You sure about that? I thought it's voided once traded.

Big reason why there's speculation Bogosian's was voided as well

- bluengold12

The acquiring team has the option to allow them to keep it. Pretty sure Winnipeg didn't give Myers his.

The argument was that Bogo's NMC didn't kick in to his contract until the 3rd (maybe 2nd?) season which would have been this past season i think it was... so he didn't have the NMC at the time he was traded yet which keeps it in tact.

That was how I understood it.

Here are the no-move clause that applies to Bogo:

A player is not eligible for a NMC or NTC in their contract until they are eligible for Group 3 Unrestricted Free Agency (7 accrued seasons or 27 years of age). A player can sign a contract that has a NMC or NTC take effect partway through the contract at the time they would have otherwise become eligible for Group 3 Unrestricted Free Agency.

Hartnell can still play, but he is declining. I don't want to be paying a 37 year old Hartnell 4.75 when we have to sign Reinhart/Eichel.
- chilliard77

Fair point.

Ennis, Moulson will all have 1 year left at that point too consuming 9.6M

Franson's 3.325M and Gionta's 4.25M will be gone after this year.

Gorges 3.9M and Kane's 5.25M will be gone that season that Eichel/Reino are free agents too.

Will have plenty of room at that point. I really don't think that's going to be a big problem. Risto will jump to about 5.5M I think.

It must be different per case because Murray and also capfriendly believe Bogosian's NMC was voided when he came here.
- bluengold12

While the 25-year-old became a fan favorite in his first season in Buffalo, his contract could make it advantageous for Murray to make a move. Bogosian's deal brings along a $5,1 million cap hit through 2020. It also has a no-move clause that will kick in after next season. When the Sabres were in a similar situation with Tyler Myers, they dealt him to Winnipeg.

I don't want to give up on him either but If someone wants him for a trade for a bonifide guy like Hartnell. I'll do it in a blink of an eye because I think Ennis is a HUGE ?? goign into next season.

His speed on Eichel's wing could be DANGEROUS!

Ennis could also have a spunge head and be afraid to use his speed and go into spaces now too and be a waste.

We just don't know.

It depends on how the contract is worded. Myers still has one since it didn't kick in until s certain year like Bogo's will next year.

Moving s player with one written in their contract but it hasn't kicked in yet does not void the NMC

If this correct I'd offer up Bogosian for Eberle straight up. I think that gets it done and is a fair one for one trade

I think I still would love to find a way to get Mike Hoffman from Ottawa the most though.

More than Hartnell, more than Ladd or Eriksson or Okposo.

The rumored guys of Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Matt Duchene, etc. I'd obviously like more but they would cost a helluva more too.

Hoffman... yes... I want Hoffman. Ottawa is running with Stone, Ryan, Zibby, Turris, Smith, etc and I'd LOVE to scoop up RFA Hoffman. Pay him the 4+M he wants that they cannot afford and move on!

I get the Ennis uncertainty but since when is Hartnell known for his speed? I do like the player though.

Couldn't agree more!!!!! If he puts up goals like that w/ Turris, what would he do w/ Eichel?
