I don't see why Florida, a team who's youth is finally maturing into veteran impact NHL players and are trying to establish themselves as a perennial playoff contender, would trade a key veteran blue liner who is helping them today for a 4th overall pick who will take years to develop.
Florida as a franchise is at the point where they are trading their draft picks for players, not the other way around. - rangerdanger94
Tkachuk is a very attractive player and I still think Florida is a few years away. Their leading scorer is 45, they have a ton of young talent but like the Isles a few years ago they're still a few years away IMO.

They won their division and made the playoffs this year and dealt assets at the deadline for rentals to make a push. Their time is now.

The Aho-Teuvo-Saarela Finn line that the Canes can run in a couple of years will be terrifying.

The Hurricanes effectively swapped Eric Staal and a 2017 3rd for Teuvo Teravainen, Aleksi Saarela, and a 2017 2nd. Take a bow, Ron Francis

They need a goalie. I don't think montoya or luongo are winning them a cup.
