Ya, read it this morning. It's horrible.

My kids are the same age 3 year old girl and just under 2 year old boy.. Can't imagine.

Risky? Yes. There is still no guarantee Willy is going to be the player we hope he will be.. as you said way too early to tell. One thing that does bother me about his play is that he does play a little soft. How this translates over an 82 game schedule plus playoffs remians to be seen. No doubt, the kid has tons of skill and holds alot of value right now.

That's my thinking on Nylander as well, after watching the Marlies playoff run. Most assume he is a shoe in for a top 6 roll next year, but with the exception of the odd game were he managed to make some room, he was invisible most of the time. Especially against more physical teams like Albany and Hershey.
If he has that much trouble against AHL defenses, he may be better off playing another year on the farm until he gets stronger.

Thing is you have to give to get. If we go the stop gap route, I am fine with that too until we develop a goalie and we keep Willy and see how he pans out. He could be a gem, but he is not a sure thing like Matthews.

Matthews will be leaps and bounds better than Nylander IMO. He will be a franchise C. Willy as a franchise player? Jury is out.

Oh my a 19 year old kid in the ahl struggled with inconsitency in the playoffs after a long season.. nylander will be fine. Since the leafs won the lottery people have started to worry about the kid. Do people not remember him being one of if not the best leaf forward at the end of last year? Nylander will be fine hes a great talent with the right mindset who works hard and does the right things off the ice too. He will be with the Leafs fulltime.

It's open till June 30, so lots of time. They'd have to be on waivers by 29th noon, clear on the the 30th and bought out.

If someone on waivers today at noon, likely bought out tomorrow.

There is no way the leafs overpay for a goalie right now. Trading Nylander for a goalie makes no sense what's so ever. The leafs are not in a position they need to overpay for a goalie (who isn't even proven yet).

They can without a doubt get a young promising goalie without giving up Nylander. With the expansion draft looming there will be goalies abvailable.
