yeah maybe..
But no one is asking for Hyman to be thrown into a trade.. He doesnt have much trade value right now. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I'm not saying he's a high value chip at this stage but I see him as becoming a Babcock fav and definitely wouldn't classify him same as guys like Percy et al... |

Definitely not as a centrepiece. He would be a nice complimentary piece tho, being young & having a low cap hit. |

Just saw something..... The new nhl draft hat comes with precurved bill, but players now flatten it out. Back in the day the bill came flat and players would curve them

Oh how the times have changed! I can just imagine players struggling to straighten them out. Bring your iron & ironing boards boys, you're gonna need them!

I think StL would be looking for a C back if they trade Shat and lose Backes
But the fans would only be willing to part with Bozak and a 5th for Shat.
I think 1 of the guys you have as keepers would have to go back.
But I won't name names and disrupt the thread - Garnie
Ya my "rant-ish" post wasn't directed at you and more about that if the Leafs want to be a playoff team they will have to pay players.....and pay more than Bozak in a trade for players.
The rebuild has not just started...kinda but not really. I think it started with Reilly. So Reilly, Nylander, Marner, Matthews are the new core that we should now start to build around. That can happen fairly quickly with a few other key pieces since we have JVR, Kadri, Gardiner, Komarov and a few others.
If we can get and PAY for Stamkos, find and pay for a #2D and #1G...all around 26 yrs old and younger....we are much closer than some think.
But again, we are going to have to add some players who make real money and are acquired with real pieces. The same reasons that Bozak won't get you Shattenkirk.....players that are overpaid at $4.5m won't win you the Cup. Bozak and Pitts 1st and a B prospect....maybe.
Players who DESERVE a big salary are the talented players that win. That's how you get the Cup.
Kopitar, Toews, Kane, Crosby, Malkin, Seabrook, Keith, Doughty, Lundquist, Crawford,...........you know the players that always get picked first to bring home gold medals....like on the playground. It shouldn't be that hard to understand. |

Maybe. Who knows for sure right now, but it certainly seems as though Percy went from top prospect a few years back to the sense that he's on the verge of falling off the chart entirely. He seemed really poised the first couple times he had a shot (couple season's back when he filled in for a few games) to last year when he seemed totally error prone and without any confidence. Maybe it was hanging around Brennan too much.... |

Not sure why you guys still have a question with Lupul's status...
1. He is having/had an abdominal surgery that takes a LONG time to heal.
2. LL already said he doesn't think he will play this year.
Lupul, Horton and Robidas are all on LTIR.
Done. - underhill14
If #1 is true, Hunwick is also out for a LONG time.
Same sports hernia surgery. |

Leivo likely has a better skill set but I get the sense Hyman projects as one of those Helm / Abdelkator type guys MB depends on.

He can be a liability in his own zone sometimes, but is a great skater/puck mover which is the type of game that the Leafs want to play. My guess is that Bozak and a 2nd round pick should suffice in a trade. He's 4th on their depth chart behind Pietrangelo, Boumeester and Parayko |
