I've been pushing this for months! It'd be a great move for the Leafs. AA will not be pleased

I don't know that we'd like the cost though.

Bozak, Corrado and the 30th overall pick are going to love it in St. Louis.

I agree, Shattenkirk would be a huge pick up for the Leafs - I am pretty sure Boston is also in on it though - they would probably dangle the #14 pick for him. Only problem is - and the only reason St Louis is trading him is that he is UFA after this year.

He looks fatter than Kessel!

(Just in case this trade happens, I want to be on record as the first guy to say stupid, unfounded stuff about him).

I thought the FAN590 sent Berger to Robidas Island?

Minus the pay cheque, of course.

- Atomic Wedgie

Just a kick in the ass with a frozen boot, but no hard feelings on Berger's side.

Hope he doesn't become too good in Toronto, don't want the fans to jump on him about baseless nonsense.

Indeed. And his hair isn't much better. Not sure this is the kind of guy to anchor a D corps.

1 - there is no roster spot, the only space Lupul is taking up is a barstool next to Robidas in Margaritaville

2 - you are entitled to your opinion that they are years away - at least you didn't say decades because then we might as well trade away the Number one pick - who will be ready to retire by the time the Leafs are contenders.

3. You are the only one defending this position on this site, making you either Stubborn, a friend of Spatso or just wrong.

Another thought. Expansion draft allows them to protect 3 dmen. Rielly and Gardiner are obvious but adding another dman means a guy like Carrick is exposed.

Does your brain only work in a linear fashion?

I have said half a dozen times that if Lupul can be placed on LTIR for the year then that's the right move.

If it comes to him taking a roster spot or being bought out the buy out is the right call.

The other option of trading him is the most far fetched theory put there.

I rather see the 57th pick (Washington) go instead.

I don't think that's the case here, player only signed through to next year do not need to be protected. Rules still have not fully been explained but contract status and injury status are bones of contention right now. Apparently, Leafs may have to protect Horton.

Robidas island #1 option followed by let him play. I don't view buyout as a viable option, just makes no sense. Trade is a long shot.

IMO I don't think that the right call. Lupul when not injured can still put the puck into the net.

This is what you said - I've cut and pasted for you - so you don't have to strain yourself.

Leafs are years away from being a good team. The cap is meaningless to them now.
Having a roster spot for a kid to develop or for a real vet presence is more important.

I answered your points directly - it's a waste of time unfortunately, your GM skills make Kevin Lowe and Jim Benning look like geniuses.

Agreed. Started off last year pretty well.

Play him if healthy. See what he can do. If he plays well it helps, if he gets injured he opens room for someone else.
