It's a new day.

Post 2010, we hit (or look to have hit) on both defensemen taken in the 2nd or 3rd round. McCabe's in and Guhle seems to be a huge hit for a late 2nd rounder.. question is, do we ever see Martin? So far, 2/3 I'd say with a chance for 3/3.

Brennan is looking good

In the AHL. Might be a late bloomer

Buffalo is not a place for paint parties, pool parties , loads of nightclubs on top of the buildings , hot girls ( playboy girls etc )

Buffalo is a place where you start a family and you raise your kids because you're sick of all that poop

agreed, but

you can't overlook what 30 years of history has produced

the best 6 out of those 20 players taken
sekera-virta
tallender-sarich
weber-mcnabb

I guess brennan for the 7th d man

that's pretty crappy for taking 20 players in round 2 and 3 in a 30 year stretch

jump on the Connor Keller Bandwagon he's not too small Johnny Hockey Jonny Drouin Danny Briere LETS GO!
- Der Kaiser

He's not too small. The Penguins were the 2nd team in a row to win a cup with one of the lightest lineups in the NHL.

For some reason, people ignore facts like this for years until it becomes blatantly obvious.

With players as small as those, I'm sure there is plenty of room on the bandwagon.

Clayton Keller... And no thanks. Not at 8. If we want him we trade down.
- bluengold12

Trade down to what, #10? Cuz he'll be gone in that range. And what do you get for a move down from #8 to #10? Have you guys honestly watched film on him? If not, I'd recommend a quick youtube visit.

I really fail to see the fascination with Keller. How is a 24 and a 37 pt USHL seasons worthy of a top 10 pick???

Any of Juolevi, Chychrun, or Sergechev... or Nylander. if one of the other wingers fall then them too.

I don't want ANYTHING to do with Brown, Keller, Bean, or Jost at #8.

I think it's more that we have known him on here for a long time. His picks as future stars is about the same as EK and his rumor chart.

He's a reach at 8. He will likely go 10-15 range. If we move down to 10-12 we can easily pick up another 2nd and use those 2nds for either quality picks or roster players. Keller is good but he's not worth 8th overall.

I look at McCabe as having graduated from being a prospect, he's a full-time NHLer and a winning pick for us. Our next round of defensemen (Not counting Nelson) is probably Guhle, Martin, Borgen, and Florentino. Guhle and Borgen seem like they have a very high growth ceiling, and if they develop right we'll be all set for years to come. Add to these guys the boat load of picks we'll be making in 10 days (which I'm thinking will be mostly defenseman) and we'll be rich in defensive prospects. The only bad part is having to wait 2-3 seasons for the first of them to develop into NHL players.

He does, but unlike 75% of this board (including me for some of them) he actually has spent time watching them play.

I value his opinion on some prospects.

Agreed. He has been the info geek on them from the start. I find it amusing the way he falls for players like a kid waiting for the sunday toy sale ads at xmas time .
