He did. And I've said the same thing before. I don't have a problem with Marcus. I think because of his name he's put under much more of a microscope here than he really should be. Those same people like to say he's only still here because of his name.

Both realistically bottom 6 guys with the ability to play on the 2nd line in a pinch.

Stamkos and Yandle should be the only options in the UFA market IMO.

Stay far away from everyone else until August.

Pillage from the ones who spent in July and now need to shed salary to get under the cap or need to move a player due to expansion.

I don't put Okposo in that list either way.

IMO by 31/32 he'll be a 35-40 point slug.

The time to have gotten Okposo was when Darcy said no to a Stafford for Okposo trade years ago.

But if those options are taken from us, I look next to Okposo and see what his demands are and see if he can be negotiated to a team friendly deal.

He's no scrub. He's just not an ideal candidate for this team, but by far would not be the worst FA signed here.

I have no problem with Marcus being a 4th liner that can fill in on the 3rd at times. My main point is that a good portion of people think he should be a 2nd liner, and the reality just doesn't match that.

I think UFA is going to play out a lot different than in years past. Teams will be afraid to offer NTC,NMC clause due to the expansion draft. They may stay away from UFA all together for fear of losing out on that player or another when the expansion draft hits.

As far as I've seen, everyone's pretty happy with him being consistent on the 3rd line.

He may not have a choice. Teams were smart in UFA the past two years, in not signing players to outrageous deals. I think Clarkson deal finally broke the camels back.

I get the feeling that Vesey is more of a thrid line player but unfortunately he will probably be promised a spot in the top 6 in order to sign him. Part of the reason i dont want the guy. I think he is totally overrated and had no business winning the hobey baker. Kyle connor got f^&%&ing robbed
