I agree. But at the same time, you have to expect that any of those guys you have are going to miss some time with an injury every year. It's the nature of the beast.

As far as Foligno goes, I think he had a very solid year and played his most consistent hockey. The changes in coaching and all of that in the duration of what really is still a young career didn't help his cause any. Now that there's consistency there, I expect to see consistency in his game from last year to this year as well.

Didn't marcus' brother take a while to turn into a decent player who could play in the top 6? maybe he is in that same boat?

Saying "I don't want a 6 year contract" and "he's a scrub" is two widely different opinions.
- TheSabresTaco

Honestly if they can't get Yandle or Stamkos, I stay away from the UFA market.

With expansion looming and teams with cap issues, there are going to be good players to be had on the cheap as the summer goes on.

I'd guess i'd rather see them do what the Islanders did a few years ago with Boychuk and Leddy.

mike richards
dustin brown
moulson

all dropped off quick

I can see the same with okposo

you can't teach speed and this team needs to get faster

it's why I want helm and yandle this off season

- homiedclown

The only argument against Okposo, and why he's left off of the international teams (the good ones, not the WC) is because of his lack of speed. Yet he still manages a consistent 60+ points for the past few years and is still in his prime. Okposo and Moulson have different play styles, and saying that one guy will slow down solely because another guy did is a complete injustice to reason. You have a list of guys who broke down fast like Heatley, Richards, Brown, Moulson, and you have an even bigger list of guys who have been very successful beyond their mid 30's, like Selanne, Lindstrom, Jagr, Boyle, Elias, Datsyuk and so forth. Saying one guy will tire out because another guy did is completely unfair.

If you look at Nick's stats, the odd ball season is 14/15.

He's had only one other 40 point season other than that.

watched nighthawks at 2 am today, one of my favorite stallone movies

IMO it's up there with his best, rank your top 5 from this list

nighthawks
fist
victory
cliffahnger
copland
demolition man
tango and cash
cobra
escape plan
rambos
rockys

expendables

I think I go
1. rocky 1
2. rocky 2
3. copland
4. nighthawks
5. first blood

tango and cash and victory just outside top 5

- homiedclown

At least these were listed in order of quality.

They go to a golf tournament to party. You can't beat going to a party with 10,000 strangers over 200 acres on a sunny day. Oh... and watch a little golf.

All outside Boyle are or will be in the HHOF.

Okposo isn't in that class.

Only one 20+ goal season.

IMO on a good team he's a fringe 2nd liner.

Shane Doan, Matt Cullen, Brian Campbell, Alex Tanguay, Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, Zdeno Chara, the Sedins, Jerome Iginla, Tim Thomas.

Most of those guys don't enter the HOF.

- homiedclown

You get a Helm at the trade deadline when you're competing for a cup.

Leave the over payed 3rd/4th liner UFA market to other teams.

Pick through the scraps in August for the bargain bin.

Iginla is the only sure fire.

The more than likely
Thornton
Marleau
Chara
Doan?

Outside looking in
Sedins
Tanguay

The only way you're getting in is buying a ticket the rest

And are you seriously putting Matt fvcking Cullen in the potential HHOF list?

This is not a HOF list. This is a list of successful mid 30's and beyond players. Which began by saying just because some players die out when they hit their early 30's, there's plenty that don't. So saying "Moulson failed, so Okposo (probably) will too" is not a fair statement.

I don't put Okposo in that list either way.

IMO by 31/32 he'll be a 35-40 point slug.

The time to have gotten Okposo was when Darcy said no to a Stafford for Okposo trade years ago.
