All I heard a few minutes ago when I was speaking with my uncle was, they have no problem keeping the pick and there is talk about a few options but I wasn't told of any as of yet. The brass has been talking a lot lately mostly about Stamkos and a couple other scoring wingers but also a lot about the draft.

Moving up will cost an awful lot, don't know if they are willing to go that high.

Why didn't he share the options ? What a tease haha.

Fowler does not equal Shattenkirk. That's really all you need to know about thinking he'll cost 8th overall pick...
- bluengold12

Fowler is 24 Who gets about 35 pts a year and he's on a great contract and he's entering his prime

Shatenkrik is 27 A mega point producer good contract but only signed for one years then a ufa

The ducks are not going to give him away for free they're going to want a good package

I mean he's a decent 3-5 D man but he is not worth a top ten pick.

Who at #8 projects to be better ? We would be waiting 2-3 years for a d-man that may pan out to be as good as he is now. Why not speed up that process

It fills a area of defined need with a player of defined quality.

Your answer is like all those guys who flipped out last year when Murray traded 21 for Lehner. Bobby Sanguinetti is a 21.

I value known commodities way more than draft picks.

If I was GMTM and they offered me Cam Fowler for #8 today I would hit the SEND button on the fax machine and then excuse myself to go wipe the saliva from my chin.

He's got all the talent of a first rounder, the seasoning of a experienced young pro, and none of the uncertainty inherent in any draft pick.

Give me that deal and I have done a great day's work for my boss.

- Der Kaiser

Would you rather Shattenkirk or Fowler? If Shattenkirk can get you 8 even though he's a RHD that would make me believe Fowler isn't worth a top ten pick. If that were the case I'd likely ask for Fowler +

Something like 8th overall for Cam Fowler and Nick Ritchie or their 1st round pick in a swap...

I think a more realistic offer would be 2nd round pick and Girgensons for Fowler

Just about any of the defensemen that may be available. Joulevi, Chychrun, Sergachev.

I'm not big on Ritchie, he's plays an aggressive style but is slow.

Absolutely wrong. Fowler was a 12 in his draft class.

You like the ideas of J, Chch and Serg because of what they COULD BE.

I like the idea of Fowler because of what he IS.

No he didn't have anything new on that as of yet, I don't ask when I talk with him, if he know's or hears anything new he tells me if not, I don't ask. He did say it's a lot to move up from 8 -3 but we knew that already.

Fowler has gotten 35 points or more twice in his career and not since 2013-2014. It's hysterical how a few months ago I was clamoring for Fowler and no one wanted him for even a 3rd round pick and a player now he's all of the sudden worth 8th overall?! Come on...

I'm game to trade 8 for Lindholm, but not Fowler. If we're trading 8 for a d-man we need to be getting a top two guy or one with serious potential to be one.

I would rather have flower shattenkirk is already signing with rangers it would be a waste to get him ..

people can say that cam is not worth the eighth overall pick but the ducks are not going to give him away for free that's what they're going to ask for

If was so easy to get cam for a second round pick and a B prospect

He be gone

By Gerbe's logic we'd have to give up Eichel and the marriage rights to Pegula's youngest daughter...

How can it be wrong? it's projections. We know Fowler is a decent top 4 defenseman, any of the the 3 defensemen possibly available could be more than that.

Which scoring wingers? Ones we'd have to trade for or ones we'd sign?
- bluengold12

Couple we would have to trade for and a few we could just sign, same names I mentioned before. They like Barrie from the AVS why I don't know, more talk about him now then Yandle. I think Yandle's asking price is making them back away for now.

The 8th pick would have to go in a deal if Malkin is involved.

They also could be less.
