Lots of players in the NHL nowadays play college hockey and then go straight to the NHL because they're more ready your body and everything
- GERBE!!!75PTS

Gets you ready but the AHL is a better league and get's you more in tune with the pro game and speed.

The AHL is still a superior league compared to college and CHL.

And I wouldn't say lots.

The vast majority go from college to the AHL.

Yeah, I am looking at the eliteprospects now.

The USDP teams play a ton of different teams throughout the year. Those point totals are something I would be cautious of. Just because of who they are playing.

The USHL team is the one that I would look at the most.

Watch the U18 game vs Canada. You'll come out of it salivating over Keller and throwing up over Chychrun. I know it's only one game, but it was a pretty imprtnat one game.

If Chychrun or Juolevi are there at 8 they will be hard to pass IMO. I would take Sergachev personally but im not convinced Murray will. I would take Keller at 8 if he agrees to leave school after one year (which I believe is all he will need). No player after pick 5 is likely going to play next season except for possibly one of the d-men. So taking Keller at at wouldnt be a big deal for me. As much as I do not like him for us, Nylander will be tempting due to his AHL eligibility next season. I believe that could possibly swing them in his direction. The ability for him to play in Rochester next season and start developing at that level right away with Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching Ect. would be tempting for sure
- MCGUIZZY

Not necessarily true. There is always 1-3 more players in the 1st round who end up making a team. As you mentioned one of the D can make the team. I'd put good money on Segachev making a team and Chychrun at the very least getting a 9 game tryout depending on the team.
Keller is a bit of a reach at 8 IMO. If Murray really likes him I'd trade a few spots down to get him

Cam is going to cost us maybe the 8th + a player

For some reason my mind is kind of like this...

50% Likely to take a DMan

25% likley to take a winger

25% likely to trade the pick

Can't find it anywhere online... Not doubting you but don't see it...

Even if he did say it could be smokescreen.

Who knows, all I know is he said it to a bunch of season ticket holders.

I would rather him play in college hockey then in the AHL just my opinion I think the game is more suited to that nhl and he'll be in a winning environment then the train trash Rochester Americans lol

if you look at the recent players that have left college they have gone straight to the NHL

Fowler is not going for the 8th overall pick plus a player.. Let's be real.... Most pundits have said Shattenkirk a top ten NHL point producing defenceman would be worth the 8th overall and he's far better then Fowler. Fowler will likely cost either our 2nd round pick and a B level player or a 3rd round pick and some combination of Girgensons Pysk and a prospect

That doesn't seem far off at all, I was just told they have no problem drafting Chychrun if he is still there. But things are moving along and Murray has a lot of options as well.

Matthews
Laine
Pujarvi
Tkachuk
Dubious

Jouevi
Sergechev
Nylander
Chchyrun
Brown

are all better prospects IMO... I get if he's say 10th or 11th on your board and want to take him at 8 fine but there will be better players on the board. I'd probably take Keller over Brown though based on need

Definitely debatable..

Brown to me is not a top 8 pick but could possibly be taken in that range. You probably feel the same way about Keller which is fine. All im saying is that he wouldnt be that much of a reach at 8 I think after 6ish its more preference/need

Fowler does not equal Shattenkirk. That's really all you need to know about thinking he'll cost 8th overall pick...

Fowler could fetch #8. If they ask for 8+ I'd tell Anaheim where to go

All I heard a few minutes ago when I was speaking with my uncle was, they have no problem keeping the pick and there is talk about a few options but I wasn't told of any as of yet. The brass has been talking a lot lately mostly about Stamkos and a couple other scoring wingers but also a lot about the draft.

Moving up will cost an awful lot, don't know if they are willing to go that high.

Just me lol

It will just be like the grigorenko draft people will say oh my God we got a player that could've gotten picked first overall (hype) people are going to say how come he dropped in the draft what a steal

Then we find out the truth

Which scoring wingers? Ones we'd have to trade for or ones we'd sign?

If I was GMTM and they offered me Cam Fowler for #8 today I would hit the SEND button on the fax machine and then excuse myself to go wipe the saliva from my chin.

He's got all the talent of a first rounder, the seasoning of a experienced young pro, and none of the uncertainty inherent in any draft pick.

Give me that deal and I have done a great day's work for my boss.
