Any interest in Tyson Barrie from anyone? Would take a good package to get him and seems like if some other things happened(streit/Shultz/a Mac trade) it could be a possibility.

I would not be interested in sending provorov is a package but there could be some other options that make sense for both teams.

Him and Trouba are both in the same boat. Both will take significant assets to acquire and both will command hefty raises. I'll pass

Question!

I do not take stalk in every word Wayne Gretzky says but he would like to see Gordie Howe's number retired all over theleague like 99. Agree or disagree and who do you think is most worthy within the Gretzky group of retired numbers?

- roenick97

Disagree. I'm not even in favor of the league wide retirement of 99. When individual teams do it, it's fine.

Tyson Barrie in my opinion is having his named sold the same way Andrew MacDonald's name was as a pending UFA and the same way Travis Hamonic currently is. Regardless of current contract status, these aren't guys to break the bank for. Even the casual hockey watcher should know who to get excited for.

There is no disagreement. I asked a question...

I don't think 99 should be retired. I'm not a fan of retiring numbers. You should honor them in the rafters. Seeing someone skating around on the Flyers with 16 on their back isn't going to change anything for me.

So there's no one who should have his number retired league wide.

Why does the NHL need to expand anyway?

25+ teams already. I know! Lets put another team in a desert! Then cry at the next lockout how not enough money is being made.

This league is very lucky it has the money, and attracts the world's best. Compared to the other major leagues, its so amateur in how its run.

- flyer_nutter

They were always going to expand after the last lockout. Expansion is instant profit for league ownership groups that doesn't have to be shared

There will be another team added in the next five years, after Vegas. I'd bet a paycheck

When they expand to Lancaster, PA I'll complain.

Ek still going with that Sanhiem plus for Yak rumor. I don't think there could be a move that would make less sense than this.

If the Flyers have any sort of interest in Yak it's going to be as a side piece in a much bigger trade.

It doesn't bother me, either way. The league overall is better with fewer teams, but that's easy for me to say typing on a laptop. If somebody's telling me I get 1/29th of $500 million, I bet I'd type something else in a hurry

And before anyone says it: No, rich people never have enough money. That's not how that poop works in the real world

Yeah.

I just don't see a lot of vet centers in UFA that I like or will be cheap. I know people mention Neilsen but after seeing what Czikas got I don't think Neilsen settles for less then 5 per.

- J35Bacher

It's not a deep pool, at all.

Maybe they could deal one of the youngsters they would probably have to risk losing for a vet & a decent draft pick....IDK, just kicking ideas around

I'd have interest, but not at the price the Avs are likely to demand. It's sort of like being interested in Shattenkirk. Of course you'd love to have him, but do you cut off your leg to fix your arm?

Agree or disagree of who is on Gretzky's level of retiring a number for good.
