Can we talk about this now? - YuenglingJagr
Sure.
I can see the Las Vegas franchise going two ways.
One where it is very successful and they have a smaller than average but moderate fan base. Most of the ticket sales come from visitors/tourists seeing their team play while they are in Vegas.
Other scenario is the team folds in less than 10 years and relocates, a la Thrashers |

13k season ticket sales. I wonder how many were bought by hotels and such to give away. |

Thought they were supposed to only go to private individuals... but I really don't believe that for a second. |

I think this will end up more like Nashville than Atlanta.
Atlanta couldn't put a decent team on the ice, which hurt them. |

Sorta crazy they could ice a team with bona fide superstars in Hossa, Kovalchuk, and Savard, but never had any success. |

Don't forget this was also back when Dany Heatley was good.
Doing better than Patrick Stefan might have helped, but I don't think that 1999 draft was that good anyway. |

I would think this would be a better location for a new franchise to stick. There would be a natural rival for Vancouver. |

Should have told Burke to shove it and demanded Naslund or Bertuzzi if they didn't take a Sedin. |

Why does the NHL need to expand anyway?
25+ teams already. I know! Lets put another team in a desert! Then cry at the next lockout how not enough money is being made.
This league is very lucky it has the money, and attracts the world's best. Compared to the other major leagues, its so amateur in how its run. |

This
In a perfect world they'd contract to 24 teams and the level of skill and competition would be phenomenal. Of course that will never happen, because, as we all know, the only thing that matters is $$$$$$$$$$$$$ |

What do you guys think of Dustin Brown? Perhaps a change of scenery could benefit him? If we could make a deal that had AMac involved and LA keeping 1-2 mill |

Vegas should come out of the gate a pretty good team with the way the expansion draft has been setup. |

I was a huge fan of him, but he's just fallen off a cliff. If the contracts ran out at the same time, I'd do it, but don't like the extra year on Brown. |
