Trying to figure out what to wear today...I want it to be nice since they will forever be the clothes I was wearing when I found out the Flyers bought out Umberger

Imagine your surprise if they bought out Umberger and than somehow traded MacDonald to the Oilers today.

Can they trade MacDonald to Vegas now for future considerations?

PP struggled because it is essentially Garbage. You take Giroux and Ghost out of the picture and you got nothing. System has Schenn playing Hartnell's previous job "sit there and wait for the one-time pass" Simmonds does the opposite of what he should do, instead of screening he stands beside the goalie and holds his hand and Voracek doesnt do much either. He either would fumble a pass, give it back to Ghost, miss the net or shoot at the goalies chest. His shooting % was brutal.

There is no disagreement. I asked a question...
- roenick97

There clearly was an agree/disagree component regarding the league-wide retirement of #9. I disagree.

As to the second issue, I thought I was clear but maybe not. I don't think that #99 should be retired league-wide, and I don't think any number should be retired league-wide. Those guys were great but they're not bigger than the league. Nobody is.

And while we're at it, I'd like the league to un-ban the number 00.

Just trying to get the pulse in hear. People have really like Hextall and his approach. What if he thought Laine was the best player in the draft and a future 50 goal scorer. He traded 18, Simmonds, Schenn and Sanheim for #2 and Trouba.

Would people still be behind Hextall? Simmonds is a guy so many people love but would they trust hextall or would there be outrage?

Just curious. I like to see how some people value certain players.

I agree.

If a team wants to honor a player and retire a number fine. But make it a team choice. You think the panthers care about 99 being worn?

The Jackie Robinson thing in baseball is different and I can understand the reason.

I trust The Plan and I'm not arrogant enough to think I know more than Hextall and his staff.

Personally I would not like it because it is too much for an unknown. Looking at it another way you are trading away 50 goals plus a high end d prospect for Trouba and an unknown.

So you would trust Hextall's assessment and let him work the roster the way he wants?

Yes, that's his job and I'm of the opinion that he has the skill, knowledge, temperament, and team to do it very well.

Speaking of uniforms, I'm sure we all have an opinion on which team has the ugliest. Anyone think that the Las Vegas team will supplant their current opinion and go straight to the top of their ugly list? I do.

I am curious to see Hextall mold the roster. Does he move a player that fans love it helps build the team for say 2-4 years down the road.

Does he gamble on potential if the potential is next ovechkin goal scoring potential.

I only asked the question because I am curious where people are:

Do they trust Hextall? Or would they rather have the known players they have grown to love(Simmonds, schenn)

I agree.

I would let him mold this team into what he feels gives the best chance. Even if it meant he moved a player like Simmonds.

I think he has a good idea for what is needed to make a Stanley cup run.
