He's got a good contract.
Would be good to keep. But people have to realize, if we sign stammer, we have needs elsewhere. Who would bring back more? Bozak or Kadri? - Fakepartofme
they didnt sign kadri to a cap friendly 6 year deal so they could keep bozak
the fact he was locked up at the same time as rielly pretty much shows that the leafs intend on moving forward with him
i do honestly believe if Bozak didnt get hurt last year he would be gone by now |

nylander will be on the wing this year... he only was give the C duties due to lack of options last year - Dozzer
Yup.
I think you'll see him on wing for a while.
It was obvious they feel more comfortable with him on wing as they would shuffle him over to wing during pressure situations on the marlies run. |

yup... grooming him for both C and wing
he will be one of those guys that, depending on the roster, will be shifted to wherever is necessary (my belief anyways) |

the team is rebuilding and bozak is 30
he will be well into his declining years by the time the leafs are actually competitive

Possibly yes. One would think.
However, Stammer changes that. If they get him.
If they do get him, I could see both being eventually moved long term. 3rd line centers are not hard to find.
Sign Stammer, maybe move Bozak now (or keep him I guess), then move Kadri once Matthews is more comfortable and they need to fill a gap or shift money around in a year or two.
So many options.
but Kadri brings back a better return no doubt, however, he has a great cap hit as well. Just maybe not so great as 3rd liner in a few years. Who knows. |

Have they shown the full jersey with the new logo yet or is Matthews going to do it next week |

oh i agree on the return part
but like i mentioned earlier the league is shifting to more of a top 9 meant for scoring and a checking line as the 4th line
look at the cup champs this year.. kessel anchored a 3rd line scoring threat |

I say keep Kadri, but at the same time it's difficult because then you have to account for what comes back the other way. If the Leafs were able to package Kadri + for a top pairing defensman, I'd say keep Bozak and trade Kadri to address that need. |

Yes that is one example.
However, he was initially only placed on the line, cause he wasnt gelling with either of the first two lines. Not really by design at the time. |

Always good to have players like this, if nothing else but to take a faceoff if a centre is ejected from the circle. |

I agree.
The harsh reality for leaf fans (if they sign stammer) will be that some players and prospects who are liked could be moved to fill other needs. |

Jesus. I can only imagine the fun on here if we trade Kadri away and he ends up winning a cup elsewhere. |

Not next year i don't think either - but if Matthews is the real deal and Kadri can bring back a good return - you have to think they may go for it - unless they think Nylanders a bust I guess. - Garnie
How about the option to switch Kadri to the wing? He has a great cap hit for what he brings... |

You move Kadri to the wing. Players will go down with injuries. That's why we got Holland for a 2nd rnd pick. - zazzle
Kadri doesn't work on the wing. Why put the better player on he wing? |

To me this doesn't make sense. I would move Nylander to the wing before Kadri. Assuming the Leafs sign Stamkos (1C), then have Kadri (2c), and Matthews (3C).
That's some sweet center depth. Wait are we talking about that Leafs |

Meh.
As long as we get a good return and he wasnt run out of town. Why would people care? |

JVR is not getting moved. he is the only non rookie top 6 winger the leafs have - Dozzer
Leafs might try and sign an RFA (Schwartz) or UFA to replace him after trading him for help on D. |

Too logical. |
