There was a big market for goalies last season (3 teams) and no proven starters available. The closest thing was Cam Talbot. This season there's not a big market at all (Calgary and maybe Toronto) and there are several proven starters that should be available. It's a buyers market this year unfortunately

I'm not sure how in the world Kings are early favorites. The only way I see this happening is if Penguins would take Gaborik + Pearson for Malkin and if the salary cap goes to $74.5M. Not sure Kings would even want to give up Pearson + we don't have any picks to give and DL wants to upgrade our blue line...
