I dunno...maybe its just me...but I dont care if your team won 3 cups in the last 6 years, your city has 20 championships, its been X years since your team won...I care about liking the team and enjoying watching/following them. The Pens are a much cooler team this time. If they suck for the next 5-6 years I will enjoy that as well. It will take longer than that, but the suck is coming for sure.

I think If I had 3 cups in 6 yrs, id be annoyed but I could deal with a first round exit.
Im pretty sure we would all be thrilled to death if we got bounced from the first round the year after we win the cup.

I agree with the sentiment that while winning Cups matters -- we all want to see it happen -- that life doesn't end when you win one and it doesn't end when you don't.
Each season is different, and I can say that Blackhawks fans, coming off a Cup win, were frustrated with the team's inconsistency this year
That doesn't detract from their Cups. It doesn't make them greedy.
It's just as you are noting, each year is it's own thing. You zoom in and zoom out accordingly
If the only thing that matters is the Cup at the end of the season...well. It is important to try to win, but with 29 other teams trying to do the same thing, well, you don't have to be a mathematician to realize that your odds are never as good as anyone wants them to be

Yes I completely agree. I think it is funny when people try to obtain a sense of accomplishment when the team they like wins the cup. Like what fans say to others as if they had a role in their team playing better one year or the next.
As a fan, the success makes me happy for the personnel, the players/staff, the city...but I never felt like I do anything different year after year. They work their entire lives to try to win the Stanley Cup. The feeling they must have for them and their families is unfathomable

How'd you come up with that number? Schultz and Cole alone make 6, unless you're pre-rating Schultz.
Anyway, keep on hating every move that the Flyers make and pretend to be a fan.
