Oh, I'm closed-minded, I can admit that. Not that I have anything against Apple Products or people who buy them, more against the "It's Apple, so I should get it," crowd. - jmatchett383
lol...I don't actually know you so I wasn't including you in that group.

I've been an 'Apple' guy since like 1995 when there were only handfuls of us nationwide. I have an iPhone 6S. I use apple computers but I hate what apple has turned into. iTunes and Apple TV are garbaggio. |

No, I am cranky 33-year-old man. I like things the way they were and don't like new things. |

So after you pay for the Apple TV, you can they pay to stream things to your phone/computer to utilize the Apple TV. Got it.
- jmatchett383
Pay? Who said pay? There's no charge for watching content from your phone, iPod, or Mac on your television.
How is that different than using a stand-alone streaming service or using a WiFi connection?
The AppleTV device, like the Amazon stick thingy, and the Roku thingamabob gets you access to many different streaming services right onto your television. You said it yourself, you don't want to watch content on your phone. These devices allow you to watch in HD splendor right on your TV (assuming it's an HD tv). |

think of it as the hockeybuzz main page...it is the way you get to Bill's articles easily and you do that a lot and really enjoy it. It also lets you do other things like stream the Pens blog, the Wild blog, The new chick that writes here blog. There are some you need to pay for (with your sanity)...like Tanners blog, the buzzcast, and Rangers blogs.
For example...I have Netflix, Hulu, NHL gamecenter, and HBO that I can watch from AppleTV, just like you would from an xbox or your computer...it is but an easy interface that I can also use to stream music, pictures, and video from my phone to my TV...if you want to rent a movie or buy a show from itunes you can do that too |

Or you could have just told him to run a HDMI cord from his computer to his HDTV so he could watch HBO in HD that way thus avoiding the pro/anti Apple debate |
