God I hope they don't trade the pick.

I hope everything goes according to plan
1) Matthews
2) Laine
3) Puljaarvi
4) Tkachuk
5) Dubois

- classic321

That does look like the consensus plan.

I didn't flag you. I'm not even watching the game.

I wasn't even aware there was a game on. Pre-season CFL action is behind de-icing the deep-freeze on my priority list.

Would you prefer Tkachuk?
- RonPielep

It is okay to second guess everything. But I think there is often a little more information that we aren't privy to that goes into the decision making process.

actually, I think my default argument would be to wait and see before rushing to judgement.

100%

Doesn't mean it's not okay to throw out some best guesses and shoot the poop tho. That's kinda what these threads are meant for.

It should be called a scrimmage or something other than a game, I'm not actually watching it, was listening to the pregame earlier and Buono was saying he wanted to have a look at everyone and I guess try some stuff out.

So if you found a nice t-bone in the bottom of the freezer and it is 2 years old, do you give it a go or does it get chucked right away?

if that happens and Canucks don't take Juolevi........
- mr.sir

Dude stop with Joulevi garbage.

Your teams defensive prospect pool is just as trash as Vancouver's

If Toronto doesn't spend their 1st on Sergechev

You just want Vancouver to take a worse player.

Do you normally tell people you disagree with that they are unwelcome?

Absolutely not. I just haven't agreed with him in almost every argument he has had with a few people in this blog.

Dirty Grampa is a funny movie. Sick humor . Not a family movie.

It was between the two last night and I picked the wrong one. Fml. Ben Stiller is such a bad actor , only good movies he's been in were Tropic Thunder and Heartbreak Kid...and Zoolander.

Edit: something about Mary was good. Along came polly had its moments. I guess he's not that bad, but fcku zoolander 2 was bad.

I'm not even trying to say it is a great deal and you should take it. I'm just saying from a value standpoint it really isn't that far off and it certainly isn't laughable.

More importantly I'm saying don't throw stones when you live in a glass house. In this case the glass house is built out of previously favoured, entirely ridiculous, homeristic proposals.

- RonPielep

And im not in the trading of the pick discussion myself. I'd prefer they kept the pick and left it at that. The compete now model is fine but it's not gonna win you a cup anytime soon. They have a healthy balance of each if they keep the pick and stick with FA signings for now. Draft and develop. It would have to an overpayment to make JB want to move that pick. I prefer he listened to all offers and stand firm on keeping it anyways.

when you don't have your team listed by your name....

And when it comes to actual trades, they are often just as surprising/out of left field as what are proposed and called far fetched.

Its sad my wife forced me to watch Downton Abbey. I watched the first 2 episodes with her and I am hooked. I'm trying to hide it from because I gave her such a hard time about it being a dumb show when she started watching it years ago. I really like it and now I am trying to hide that I am watching it because I don't want to admit I was wrong.

On topic though the Lobster looks excellent.

I haven't gotten into Downton Abbey, haven't sat down to watch it, but really enjoyed Little Dorrit when I watched it a couple years ago, some great characters.

I have been watching Outlander too, but have come to the conclusion that I really don't like seeing anyone raped.

I like some of the period productions.

I didn't find that last part very coherent but I've been pretty clear about which teams I root for. I don't recall the last time a real deal went down where a player as good as Duchene was traded where the biggest asset coming back was someone as unproven as Tyramkin. Other proposals I cannot speak to.

Fair enough. But I don't think trading for 5 to 9 is necessarily a game changer in your strategy, especially if a valuable young asset and decent pick are coming back.

Also, if JB is a 'draft' GM and is planning on going off the board at 5 then trading down to 9 might actually be the best idea depending on how exactly he is targeting.

I'd have to disagree slightly on that because I also think beyond the top 5 talent drops significantly. Maybe not even just talent but the development factor comes into play as well. I think they become a bit longer of a project past 5. We have to keep that age gap closer than it has been in years past. Someone like Dubois or Tkachuk may play in the NHL on a team like the Canucks in the next 2 to 3 years. Others lower down might not.

To be completely honest I am just a huge fan of Dubois and hope we have to pleasure of drafting him.

I also think it's where they could potentially slot into the line up when they develop. Dubois or Tkachuk have a good chance of becoming 1st line guys.
