They'll take as many young controllable players as they can on cheap deals (Rust, Pouliot types) and then a bunch of mid tier vets with 1 year left on their deals

They'll have capspace for FA's in year 1
They'll have a ton of capspace for FA's in year 2 when all the vet contracts expire
They'll get 3 really good goalies, and be able to trade 1 of them for a nice asset I'm sure

and 4 years of guaranteed lotto picks, likely weighted heavily in their favor

Again they can only take one player from our roster total. They can't just snag up every player that is not protected. And they will want to have as competitive a team as possible, which is why the draft lottery is so harsh to begin with, they will take guys that can help their team win games to build the brand right off the bat.
