I'd really like to know what Bill Watters thinks about this. He seems to be the all knowing expert |

Hmmmm
I wonder
I suppose the guys with expiring contracts would for sure. Makes no difference.
But even Horton, I dunno. I assume regardless that he's injured he still has some obligations to the team that signs his paychecks. Mostly I mean he has to at least be present for functions or available to them whenever they want. Maybe the team wants regular training and supervision in case he can come back etc etc.
All just spitballing of course. But maybe he hates the thought of Vegas and won't do it. Why even risk it if you don't have to right ?
Im essentially referring to at least part time residence in Vegas. - HB77
Vegas would never select him. |

And here's a hilarious thought:
Would Lupul waive to go to Vegas?
I think he might. |

Kinda semantics.
The expansion draft sounds like it's gonna be right before the draft. (Late June)
Ference's Contract expires July 1. I dunno how truly certain rxpansion is, but seems pretty much foregone.
I read that trying to get ference to retire is the move, but then he'd be leaving 3.5 mil out there..
As far as Horton, that's sorta what I was asking. I wasn't sure that ltir matters. If they have an nmc, they gotta be protected. But I could be wrong - HB77
could be? As in a 100 percent chance?

About them being protected ?
Definitely not 100%
In fact, quite the opposite at this point.
Daly mentioned nmc's having to be protected. And while certain grey areas (like ltir/expiring contracts) have been discussed, no outs have been given
Unless of course you have a link to some league mandated literature specifying the rule...?
I wonder why you even bothered to retort ? |

1goose1 is Watters
It's key to figure out to do with the likes of Lupul, Clarkson, Michalek, Bozak, and Robidas. Having so much money tied up to LTIR or 3rd/4th line roles severely hamper future moves

I can lie on the ice for half the cost and be just as useful.
Gudbranson is (frank)ing garbage - lumlums
Really??
I would rank Gudbranson as 2nd best on the Leafs, right behind Rielly, and before Gardiner.
Every time I have seen him play, he has been great |

Gudbranson is bigger and tougher than gardiner. But it ends there.
Slow as molasses and gets destroyed by the numbers at both ends of the rink
Gardiner is better than gudbranson every day of the week. |

No..
You can tell how good someone will be by watching them play.. The KHL is the second best league in the world and he's a star in that league.. He was one of the best defencemen in the WHC too.
He's very proven and capable. |
