I almost feel like i'd like to see another tank year. Make absolutely certain they'll be a top team at some point soon. But if they sign Stamkos, and more and more I feel like that will happen, there is no way they are anywhere near last place.

At that point, I feel like you almost have to play Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Stamkos, all of them.

I actually feel like you gotta start thinking about making some trades for a dman. If Stamkos signs, they've basically got the makings of one of the better top 6s in the league. between Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Stamkos, JVR, Kadri, Komarov, I don't even know what you do with Lupul, Bozak. There is still Kapanen, Connor Brown, Leivo, Leipsic, Soshnikov, all guys that should be pushing for a spot in the next couple of years too.

1994: I was at the Vogue Theatre for game 7. After the game we were depressed and you could feel the crowds mood changing. We jumped back on SkyTrain and headed home. As we were leaving more people were coming downtown. Not a good sign.

2011: I was at the game. I couldn't stand watching Boston skate around with the cup, so I left with 5m left. I didn't wanna be around big crowds. Just wanted to get home. As I was on the train home I heard of cars being set on fire. Idiots. Just don't paint us all with the same brush.

You must admit, re: my earlier comment, there seem to be a lot of very arrogant people from Vancouver. There seems to be a bit of an attitude there.

I'm sure there are arrogant people in every city. Also, the riots were in response to housing prices. not a hockey game.

Have you even been to Vancouver? People from all over the world seemed to enjoy their time here during the Olympics. It was nice to let the world know that we don't live in igloos. People were wearing shorts in Feb.

The Carolina Hurricanes hit all three boxes and will need some cap floor insurance. The last game the Hurricanes played, according to Left Wing Lock, had the ‘Canes lines down the middle looking like this: J. Staal – Rask – Nash – McClemment

They could use a Tyler Bozak.

Would the Hurricanes be interested in a Bozak for picks deal? How about their 2nd rounder (43rd) and Winnipeg’s 3rd rounder (67th)? Is that a fair price for a center like Bozak?

The Hurricanes have seven picks in the first three rounds this year. That deal would give them center help, and still leave them with two firsts, a second and two thirds.

Again, the Toronto Maple Leafs don’t have to trade Bozak, but if they can make a deal that potentially improves them down the road, involving a player who won’t be here two years down the road, then they have to do it.

The big picture doesn’t involve Tyler Bozak.
