It's dumb if the return sucks. If we actually move Stepan, I think we'll get back a very, very good players. This won't be a Stepan for Bozak and a 2nd type of trade. It'll be Stepan for ROR or something of that nature.

That'd be terrible. 1, Both player are equal defensively and offensively. 2, ROR makes 1 million more in AAV than Stepan. That trade doesn't do the Rangers any good. It just puts them in more of a cap bind.

I wonder if we could pry MacKinnon from the Avs using Stepan as bait...that gives us some more offensive potential and speed while giving Colorado a quality two way top 6 center and two way players is something they lack.

Brassard makes 1.5M less than Stepan which is nice but I agree I'd prefer to keep Stepan

I think Skjei is to valuable to move for this franchise. In today's game you need great skating D men. He is young and on a cheap deal. It doesn't get much better than that.
