Thankfully - hope he has the same agent as Eric Staal. Time fore a haircut |

This talk of Gogo needs to stop.
He's an aging mediocre D who doesn't fit the Leafs' timeline and dynamic. |

According to same source, Coyotes would trade their 2 1st rd picks + either Max Domi or Christian Dvorak for right to draft Auston Matthews
nothing like beating a dead horse."
You would need to think about that deal. I doubt they offer that much. It is a lot more than Quebec/Colorado got for Lindros and they went on to be competitive for 10 great years and win a few Cups. It would be really something if you could get both Dvorak and Domi |

Goligoski is 31 and declining
Much rather demers .... if we can get him for $4m. - Tumbleweed
show me how he is declining.
he's been better last couple of years.
you might think he'll become worse, but you don't know for sure.
normally he'll have another 3 good seasons in him at least. |

What else do you see in the Leafs crystal ball Mike?
Will Kadri get traded, we need to know for our lineup scenarios. - LeafMan
I think Bozak is more likely to be traded than Kadri, since he has only two years left at a reasonable $4.2 Million and teams looking to not make a long term commitment may opt for him instead of signing a free agent for four or five years.
I'm reasonably confident that Kadri will not last the first half of the six-year deal, especially if they sign Stamkos. The Leafs locked him up because they got a friendly cap number.

because this is not true.
as opposed to other names mentioned (Polak, Demers,..) Goligoski is very capable of being a good top pairing d-man. |

me too, just saying if they were gonna bring in Russell might better get Polak instead. - poohcrumbs
Oh yeah I hear ya. They both bring essentially the same skillset (though Russel does take fewer dumb penalties). |

They have already started to shop him - IMO they are in cap trouble- they already have Eric Johnson $6 million and Beuauchemin at $4.5 million, Brad Stuart at $3.6 and McKinnon is an RFA - no way they are able to sign Barrie without creating space. On top of that Roy sees Barrie as a fifth defenseman - why would they not create some cap room and bring in some picks and prospects? - winsix
If roy sees Barrie as a 5th defenseman than how does he log between 21-26 minutes of ice per game. Those are top pairing minutes. |

Gogo is nothing special.
The has cracked 40 pts. ONCE in his career... O-N-C-E!! And that's even on a cup winning Pens team AND the highest offence last season with only 37pts, 38 pts the year before that.
If you can get him for $4m x 3 or 4yrs, then sure, otherwise he can beat it. |

if LEafs make a trade, something like this would make more sense (as opposed to trade for Barrie):
Bozak + good prospect / 1st round pick

Garf said the 'yotes would do Their 1st pick, Strome, Domi, OEL and other picks for the #1.
I'm holding out for that. |

I'm not sure the Leafs make any big splashes for a Dman in the trade market or UFA. I think they'd rather stand pat and maybe sign or trade for a guy like Hunwick again. - Aaron_85
This is exactly what is happening this year. Same with the goaltending. No major moves this season. One more year of pain. Then watch the (frank) out NHL!
We'll see many minor trades this season. |

Why is it that every trade proposal includes Gardiner?
If we need defense why are people inviting someone to take our best puck possession blueliner?
If anything move one of our top offensive prospects for a top NHL defenceman. |

I don't know Mike unless he falls out of favour with Babcock. Depends on the maturity level he shows moving forward. Bozak will be gone if Stamkos is signed, no doubt in my mind. |

See the article from Frei and Chambers (Denver Post) credible journalists - that basically state Roy's feeling on where Barrie fits in as a 5th guy. May 28th. In an interview Roy suggest he wants a bigger defenseman.

His ppg production has already dropped off the highs in his late-twenties.
He is not a special talent. No reason to think his game won’t continue to tail off as he moves into his early-thirties.
I’m less concerned about the 1st 2-3 years of the deal and more concerned about having $5-6M of dead weight for the back half of his contract. |
