This was long before NHLers did strength training. He was just a naturally gifted guy who would rip home runs and line drives when he was invited to batting practice with the Tigers. Many pro baseball players said he could have been a very good power hitter if he worked at it.

Im working at an auto upgrade shop for the summer and I handle all the U-Haul rentals lol.. anyhow, I always chat with the customers because I'm bored.. I just rented out a van to an old guy wearing a Leafs hat so I asked him if hes a fan.. He said he was and went on to tell me some stories about being at the parade in 67.. He said he never misses a game and is more excited in the direction the team is going now than ever before

I am the same vintage and was also at the parade as a 13 year old as a bunch of us skipped school that day.

And I also think we have the makings of a good team here, that will be competitive for 10 years or so.

Then hopefully we get lucky and win 3 rounds to get to the Stanley Cup finals.

It's a VERY long way from here to there right now!

They would have the pieces to trade - IMO, but the bigger issue would be how much to sign him? I believe Reilly is better, now do you pay an outsider more money than Reilly who projects to be a top pairing guy? Not sure if Leafs could do that and Edmonton might be willing to overpay.

Lol whenever I did the draft in NHL 15 or NHL 16, I'd always end up with Jake Bean & / or Sean Day...would be cool to add one or both of those somehow.. depth, depth, depth! Always a good thing to have!

As for goaltending...we need at least 2 here because we still aren't sure about ANY of our goalies, whether it's someone in the system/marlies or hell, even JB .. But i do think Bernie is as good as gone (meaning he won't be re-signed next yr / could be traded)
