Sometimes I get the sense that Russian hockey clubs are a lot like me.

I can certainly call up Stamkos and tell him that I'll give him an 11 million dollar 7 year contract, but hell if I know where I'm going to get that kind of money.

A lot of these guys aren't getting paid.....regularly. Dats is going home literally to be to with his family and he's made his money....real paid out money. These guys are reporting HUGE contracts that don't get paid out because the teams are struggling. A lot of the Russians playing there play for less more for pride than money; but mainly because they can't get contracts in the NHL. There are exceptions obviously but not many.

Huh? Being signed to a contract doesn't mean they are in the nhl. He was saying they won't be in the nhl (whether that's right or wrong) but that had nothing to do with contract.

Didn't they already play in the NHL? Maybe he should have said they won't play in the NHL again. They've already played more than 9 games....meaning they are currently IN the NHL by those standards......and it doesn't matter....they will all play in the NHL this season baring injury...,and I will wager any amount on that statement.

He was talking about this year (and perhaps future years).

No playing more than 9games in the nhl doesn't mean you are in the nhl next year.


And like I said I didn't agree with French that they (all) won't be in the nhl next year, just saying that having a contract doesn't mean you're in the nhl nor does playing 9 games last year.

I actually ask and what I can and what I can't say.....so yes. There have been a lot of talk and contracts I wasn't allowed to repeat......if they tell me not to say anything which is sometimes the case..I don't.

There is so much talk..,,and more times than not where there is smoke there is fire.
