Sign stamkos - 7 years @ $9.1M (trade for rights – Bozak, Harrigton, S.Carrick)
Sign Vesey - ELC
Sign Helm – 4 years @ $3M
Trade for Kinkaid – Sparks and 5th
Trade for MAF – Percy, Leivo and Bernier

Yes. Order matters for insurance.
I think clb made a calculated gamble that didn't pay off. They wanted to sign Horton, but couldn't insure because he was still rehabbing the injury at the time. So do we sign him and gamble with insurance or do we gamble that we can still sign him when he's healthy (does he sign with someone else before he gets healthy and we miss out?)

They aren't resigning Erickson so there is a top 6 spot sitting there for him beside either Krejci or Bergeron. He'll get the same money from both teams (rookie max). Why wouldn't he just stay close to home?
Pretty much a no-brainer IMHO. Only thing that may sway him is Leafs going up and B's going down. |
