League might have an issue with something like that.

It's been a staple of the last 3 expansion drafts.

Remember the Flyers sending Roussel to Nashville to protect Coffee?

Really high. But if AMac was his battery mate, it would be way lower.

I think the Brayden Schenn contract this summer fits this category. Kind of excited to see how Hexy plays it.
- Marc D

Know matter how this plays out I feel comfortable with how he handles it. If ANYONE is familiar with Brayden Schenn as a player on and off the ice i feel it would be hextall. He has essentially been watching him since he was in LA.

Kunin, Luke RC/W – University of Wisconsin (BIG-NCAA) 5’11”, 190 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 17
Luke Kunin is a late 97’ birthday and was able to escalate his schooling to be able to attend Wisconsin in his draft year and instantly stepped into a struggling team and was able to make a contribution right away. Kunin is a mature young man both on and off the ice and showed good leadership qualities despite being one of the younger players on the team. Kunin was close to a Point Per Game with 32 points in 34 games, ended the season with 9 Goals in the final 10 games and started to dominate games down the stretch. Kunin spent most of the season playing left wing but did spend some time at center and was effective at either and good in the faceoff circle.

Kunin likes to play a scrappy game and brings a good work ethic and physicality along with the ability to get under the opponents skin and draw penalties. Luke has an elite hockey IQ which allows him to anticipate and disrupt plays in his own end as well as be in the right position to find loose pucks in the offensive zone. If there is a weakness in his 200 foot game it is in the neutral zone where he showed the tendency to not engage in as many puck battles and gets caught on the high side of the puck at times. Kunin is a player who likes to play with pace through neutral zone which can cause issues if his team doesn’t win possession and the play goes the other way.

Kunin’s skating balance, agility and acceleration allows him to cover a lot of ice, win a lot of races to loose pucks as well as pressure the puck carrier on the fore check. When Kunin has the puck on his stick in the offensive zone he has a shoot first mentality and can get the puck off his tape quickly and accurately. He possesses an accurate one-timer with decent velocity. While Kunin’s playmaking ability isn’t as high end as his finishing ability he is an accurate passer of the puck and knows how to move the puck quickly in all 3 zones. Kunin played in all situations for Wisconsin and his anticipation and ability to read the play allows him to be a dangerous penalty killer. He picks his spots to challenge and can be a threat to create scoring chances shorthanded.

Certainly Kunin needs some more seasoning and success at the NCAA level before making the jump to pro hockey but we believe he projects as a solid top 9 forward at the professional level.

Quotable: “You can tell this kid thinks the game at an Elite level, he always knows where he needs to be to find the puck on his stick and has the finishing ability to convert on his chances.” HP Scout Dusten Braaksma

Quotable: “Even with not a lot of help around him, he started to dominate games in the second half of the season.” NHL Scout (February 2016)

Quotable: “He has that rare ability to get under the opponents skin, both on the scoreboard as well as between and after whistles.” NHL Scout (February 2016)

Given its length, do they provide more info on each prospect? Or is that it?

Pu, Cliff RC - London Knights (OHL) 6'01.5" 192 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 84

Pu was selected in the first round, 16th Overall at the 2014 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Oshawa Generals out of the Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget program. After struggling a little to get acclimated to the OHL, Cliff was dealt to the London Knights in the deal that sent Dakota Mermis and Michael McCarron to the Oshawa Generals. Pu struggled gaining icetime and then suffered an injury that may have set him back. When he returned to the Knights line up he got his speed to another level which really helped him move up the depth chart.

Pu has fantastic speed and great acceleration. If he has a little space when receiving the puck he will take off up the ice and can carry the puck end to end with ease. He seems to struggle with the confidence to take the puck to the net. There were times when we did see him take the puck to the net and he created some good scoring chances with an aggressive drive, but he doesn't do it often. Most of his offense gets created off the rush. We would like to see Pu play a little more aggressive style of game. He is very inconsistent when engaging in battles and generally will not use his size to win the battle and will rely on stick work.

The key to Pu's game is his speed. If he was able to utilize it more aggressively on the rush and was harder to play against, it could really help him get to the next level. The concern is his offensive inconsistencies that may keep him out of a top six role at the NHL level. The lack of grit and playing with an edge limits his effectiveness in a bottom six role. We’ve seen him play a lot. Pu is opportunistic and gets scoring chances, the problem is that too often he doesn’t bury his chances. This hurts his top six value and his draft stock for us
