Red Line report scouting service has sabres picking Nylander at 8, passing on both chychrun and Sergachev.

I say horsefeathers.

Murray will find another course of action that does not bring soft perimeter play.

I like goal scorers anyway I can find them. That being said I really like those two defenceman so would be a tough call in that situation

The rap on him is that he ISNT a goal scorer: a huge fraction of his points are secondary assists.

Curiously, the only major junior player who has more secondary assists is Tkachuk!!

I've read most of his assists are from that but that he is in fact a goal scorer. I've read multiple reports about that, also that he has an accurate and quick shot and even more importantly... He's fast!

A knock on Phil Kessel is that he's a perimeter player

Haven't watched much of his play before playoffs this year but he's dancing in the crease all the time.

Thing is, the wing position is something you can get away with addressing through creative trades or FA signings. Building your D-core or depth down the middle not so much. Besides, having the kind of C depth we do gives us the luxury of not having to invest that heavily in wingers because guys like Reinhart and Eichel make those players appear better than they seem.

.
He is soft as butter but he's a player we need speed and a finisher
We don't need a team full of people that just hit etc

They could... They have a lot of people they need to sign and very little cap room. Could opt to trade the vet instead of Shattenkirk

Anaheim blogger seems to think Sami Vatanen is available...Ducks won't be able to,sign all their R/UFA's. Shoots right, but if Pysyk is traded..he could be a nice add.

"The deal from the Toronto point of view was considered necessary, not only because Kessel’s departure signalled the start of a significant organizational restructuring under Brendan Shanahan, but also because the presence of Kessel on the roster would have made finishing at the bottom of the standings nearly impossible. "

Don't get your hopes up. Chances are better to see Gruden or Cowher.

From one of their posters, they are looking for a 1st round pick and a prospect, although he also mentioned that they don't have a 2nd round pick this year.

The problem with dealing for Vatanen is the Ducks own internal spending limit, which means Buffalo really can't send something else their way unless it is very cheap and cost controlled.

Girgensons is going to cost too much for them to take back, even if he gets $2.5M on his next deal? Difficult to say.

I wonder if they would take, as far as picks go, a 3rd this year and Buffalo's 2nd next year (thinking the Wild 2nd will be a higher pick next year)?

Is Vatanen good enough to send them something like Girgensons, 2016 3rd, 2017 2nd, 2018 1st?

Upgrading the defense with Vatanen and Chychurn is very enticing.

It's embarrassing the amount of arrogance that city and its hockey analysts show.

Maybe we see something in one of the Dmen and take them at 8 and get a steal like with Risto
