So having never played hockey, where are the pockets in the shorts?

I'm just wondering & also why the (frank) would a Sharks player have a $100 bill fall out of his pocket? I mean Sid has to have seen that right? That's why he dived into the Sharks bench to grab it??

Edit: Funny thing, Aussie slang for a $100 bill is named after a shark! True story.

Well you better be walking around town in a Pens Guernsey! Personally I like my 58 Letang, that would go down pretty well over there wouldn't it?

The one year I give my playoff tickets back to the pens is the year I could have cashed in and paid for the whole season!

With the way we have played; sat back in third periods in somewhat tight games after getting the lead, he has delivered despite that. Nine of our play-off wins have come by one one, four on overtime. Sure, he has allowed some softies, but let's not forget some of the play-off games Sid did nothing. That is not an attack on him, or me saying he needs dealt. Sid hasn't played well every game either. Felt Murray by far was far more valuable to Pittsburgh last night than Sid and there have been others too I've felt the same.

Part of me, if we win this (not jinxing it), wants to see Murray get it. The other side, wants to see PK get it to give a middle finger to Torts and the rest of the USA Hockey brass who made the decision to leave him off.

I don't know I guess I'm just not a goalie guy and I hold goalies to really high standards when it comes to giving them the Smythe/Hart. IMO, Murray out played Lundqvist, was pretty even with Holtby but slight edge went to Holtby, was completely outplayed by Vasalevskiy, and is probably being outplayed by Jones in this series. If he's not even the best goalie on the ice for the majority of the serieses, then I just don't see how he could get the Smythe. He's also a very distant third in terms of SV% to Holtby and Bishop and there are a couple others in his general ball park. Yeah he's played two more serieses than those two, but still. That hurts his case IMO.

Almost bought game 5 tickets last week for 425 for nosebleeds. Probably should have bought all I could and then resold them huh?

This aint over. So therefore I refuse to talk about Conn Smythe or anything else like that. Expect the Sharks team from period 3 of game 4, all game next game.
- MattStrat

Unless the Pens go up by a couple and the Sharks go the "eff it" route and spend most of the rest of the game in the penalty box. You know frustrated players like Burns and Dillon are just looking for an excuse to lose it. There were at least a couple boarding calls in game 4 that would have been made in the regular season or even in rounds 1 and 2, and with the Pens up 3-1, if the officials think the Sharks are cashing out, they'll fill the box with offenders.

What hurts his case, is Pittsburgh wins by one goal and outshoots its opponent by 15+ per night. Allowing that extra goal still gives the opposing goalie a better save percentage. There are some significant stats that need to be taken into account. 5-0, 1.76 gas, .935 save percentage coming after a loss in the play-offs. I would also figure in what I was saying about our style of play in the third periods by sitting back when the opponents make the push. He is getting the brunt of the work then and has had to make big time saves in order to prevail. Last night was no different - Marleau, Couture, there was another one, but can't remember the player.

He deserves it over Sid from my vantage point. Let's see what transpires in game 5.

Went to game 2. Got resale tickets for $260 each in the nosebleeds. Same tickets are going for 1030 for Game 5.

Should we be lucky to finish this off tomorrow, I think it's Kessel. Maybe Sid could steal it with a monster game.

Here's my case against Murray.... The team has really made it easy on him. I don't want to take anything away from him, but how many periods has Murray just stood there watching the play at the other end? When he did need to make saves, they came from 50 feet out. I realize he's had to have a handful of tremendous periods, but for the most part his work rate has been low. Most games he's needed to make around 25 saves.

Murray's been great no doubt, but I don't think he's needed to be special very often.

Getting ahead of ourselves but Crosby will win the Conn Smythe.

1. Matched up against every teams top line in a shut down role.
2. Leads the team in GWG.
3. Came up with a number of huge moments.
4. His composure has carried the team. His ability to skate away from the cheap shots he has taken instead of allowing scrums to start has really changed the dynamic for the Pens. He has kept his composure and the team has kept theirs.

Both Kessel and Murray have been great and would be deserving also, I just think Crosby has been on another level these playoffs even if all of the stats dont necessarily reflect that.

Interesting stat the Islanders statistician gave on one of the morning shows.

Justin Braun leads all players in this series with two goals in regulation, but his team trails 3-1.

Being able to go on Thursday night is why you buy season tickets gents. There isn't likely any price point at which I would give mine up for game 5. Being in the building with a chance to see the cup raised is worth every nickel I've spent all these years.

Wrestling is a bottom of the barrel IQ choice of entertainment.

Ya because hockey fans are always soooooo smart.

Trade Geno he's been bad for 2 whole games!
Trade Letang he's burnt out
Trade Crosby he isnt good enough
Rutherford is an idiot. He built a soft team that will never survive a playoff series.

If you follow sports to you look/feel smart go follow chess. Haha

Ehhh.. very debatable. I would rather just shell out money for each game I choose to go to.

Knew I should have bought tickets at the start of the round for game 5 though... Should have bought 10, sold 8 and kept 2.
