This team is just incredible.
There are no consistent whipping boys after a loss and a different hero with very victory. |

Yep... but Brent Burns, at 6'5 250... didn't flop from 190lb Rust hook on his wrist. - Guile
In fairness, Burns was probably pretty tired after 59:59 minutes of ice time. I need to look at those ice times for real...Burns, Thornton, and Pavelski seemingly never left the ice. |

Actually I don't think he gets it automatically. There is a criteria for names, and only so many allowed per team.
I'll have to look this up, but I saw the rules on a mini special the other day.
Of course, ANY player on IR or such, can be elected to be put on, if the team has space. - Guile
yeah. like vic just said i figured it had to be some number of games, but i didnt know with the LTIR stuff if there was a loophole for him.
bennett actually played in a playoff game. doesnt that do it for him? |

OFFICIAL RULE ON HAVING YOUR NAME ON THE CUP.
A player must have at least 41 games played with the club or one game played in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, in 1994 a stipulation was added to allow a team to petition the Commissioner for permission to have players' names put on the Cup if extenuating circumstances prevented them from being available to play.
So yes, Duper can be put on. Zatkoff auto on. Bennett... NOT automatically on.
Edit:
Besides eligible players, the names of coaches, management and staff of the winning team are also engraved on the Cup. |

No I think it has to be specifically a game in the finals. I don't think Bennett, Wilson, Pouliot, or Sundqvist are eligible. |

Can't say enough about Carl Hagelin. Guy's a gamechanger. - Victoro311
Can an entire line win the conn smythe?
No?
What if that line is named after pretty good wrestler? |
|
|
|
Hell yes! 1 win away. Murray was back to form tonight, kessel is conn smythe bound, malkin picked it up a bit and made our PP work. Nice to see them win a game even though they were outshot. However, they need to be better tonight if they want to close it out at home.
And please resign Schultz |

Tonight also feels like a good night to look back on getting 4 years of Carl Hagelin for a UFA David Perron. He doesn't put up big points but man is he impactful. Hes part of the best line in hockey, a rockstar on the PK, almost single handedly changed our teams identity, and honestly is one of the few players I have faith in to put on the ice in any situation. What a huge addition and perfect Duper replacement (if not better). - YouMeAndDupuis9
Agree 100%. He might be the team mvp since he was acquired. There are others with better stats but what he has done is nothing short of incredible

i say this repeatedly.
guy will be the worst goal scorer for 4 mil practically ever. but my god he influences a game in so many ways.
in the wrong system, i think that contract could be an albatross. but for right now, its literally the perfect embodiment for this team. and it helps get more out of kessel.
and speaking of which. (frank)ing kessel. my god (frank) all the detractors. if anything, his sniping/floating aspect has been somehat meh, but everything else? my god. the hustle from him. he (frank)ing wants this. he has to be so happy. |

Given that stipulation exists, I don't foresee a world in which Duper is NOT allowed on the Cup. This seems like the exact situation that stipulation was made for. |

Did he not see Burns fall and do a barrel roll when he was slightly hooked? |

He is your future, and hell he has to be after this season. I think you may have a taker for Fleury in Calgary, Toronto or Carolina. May not get much with that contract, but he is someone that should be able to move.

sucks for all the young pups, but obviously i want it for duper. |

haha yeah seriously.
gotta realize 2009 is a longgg time ago.
dumb question. should they hold on, duper does still in fact get his name on the cup again correct? - stayinthefnnet
They can petition for his inclusion, but he did not play 42 games, nor 1 game in the Finals

How to sound intelligent about hockey:
Schultz is the worst player in the NHL.
Kessel is a lazy, horrible teammate.
Malkin isn't worth his contract. |

He's unreal man. His play and speed away from the puck is so good I wouldn't care if he didn't produce at all. |

You think? I thought it sucked. Especially the last 7/8 mins of every period. I was laughing my ass off watching the last Sharks PP struggle because of their own sh!tty ice. |

It was good for most of the 1st period... 2nd period, the left side (from the TV's angle) became poop. 3rd period... all went to poop.
I feel like the NHL should be looking into that. Ice regulations and quality is "supposed" to be the same for every rink. |
