I'd love this. Would even out the conferences for the time being as well. Then we can move the Cats to QC and Arizona to Seattle. - Victoro311
Last two not happening. They have dedicated owners. The canes dont.
Edit: Those two would be the expansion revisited later. |

Love the pens... but your announcers are the biggest homers in the game...
Pittsburgh needs this win needless to say. Geno needs to show up... need a fast start and a much better performance all around. LETS GO PENS |

A hockey news page on facebook reported a rumor about expansion. Apparently some NHL executives are suggesting the Canes relocate to Las Vegas and the NHL revisit expansion later. The Canes owner is selling the team but only to someone who will not relocate. He is losing money like mad so he might not get the choice after a while. Plus he owes the NHL money apparently so maybe they could strong arm him? This even being considered could delay expansion if not stop it. I want Vegas to have a team but this is great for the pens and their goalie situation. #keepemboth - Zac_O
Interesting... I did not realize the Canes were hemorrhaging money. I also hear from more than just EK rumors... that the Quebec expansion is looking very good for its chances. |

The canes owner's sons are suing him for taking money from their inheritance account (im not sure all the details, rich people problems) to pay for the canes and he isnt able to pay it back. I've seen many many reports saying the NHL is waiting for Canada's economy to rebound a bit. Either way relocation one team west with or without expanding to seattle and QC is a good idea. |

Ah... I am a moron. I DID know of that lawsuit, which would have made the losing money really obvious. Mental lapse on my part. |

Its not a permanent fix. But saves some worries of losing Murray. Wouldn't force anything to happen for a few years. |

They are the team with the weakest owner situation right now. So its common relocation rumors start up. But I really hope they get relocated to Vegas. It solves so many issues. Plus the team is getting better so the money will be good for the new owners. |

So what you're saying is Lovejoy can't handle a top 4 role in the playoffs? Yeah that's news to no one but whoever traded for him in the first place. Dumo-Tang has to play really well tonight if they are going to keep the shots low and the overall team defense looking as good as it had.
Lyle Richardson has MAF as one of his top 10 most likely to be traded this summer list and with the expansion draft coming up this summer will be the best time to the max value for him. MAF to Dallas for either of their goalies(salary retained to match Fleury's), Julius Honka, and Dallas' first this year. That's fair for both and if teams have to put 25-30% of their cap hits in the expansion draft then having one of those 2 goalies will come in handy. |

What I learned?
Loved that Pens 4th line from the start last game. Deboer matched the Thorton line against them every stoppage last game in the 1st period and they were dominated. He switched from that to start the 2nd period.
That Kunackle kid can move. Saw that rocket Hagelin get caught by Burns in this series and have seen Kunackle skate away from Burns numerous times. Big guy can really move.
Jones is a rebound machine and is like a scared cat in a dog pen when he has to handle the puck. Simply get pucks to his feet and he'll create a Pens chance often enough.
If Murray were in a Caps uniform I might not notice it wasn't Holtby. Kid is a clone of Holtby in both style and demeanor. Kid is beautifully balanced and square.
Watching this series reminds me of the Hawks-Blues. Yea it was close and went 7 but as a Hawks fan you could see the play was slanted and the Hawks needed breaks and luck for a win. Sharks look the same way.
Lovejoy had 79% defensive zone starts, Maatta had 62%. When you start that many in your Dzone your corsi will suck. Maatta is a bit heavy footed but I like most everything I've seen from Lovejoy these playoffs. He gets the puck and moves it, the style needed in the push, push, push run and gun style Sullivan has implemented.
Pens a +110 and Sharks a -130 tonight.

My point is our hand is forced after next year anyway. Unless the cap jumps $10 million. We won't be able to pay 2 goalies a combined $10 million or so (assuming murray bridge is around $4). |

Before we keep crucifying Lovejoy... lets at least admit, that Maatta is pulling down that pair this series |

I heard they dropped teh 25% cap hit rule. Also we really need to clear cap after next year and both of their goalies would still have term left. So Dallas looks like a bad fit to me unless they are willing to retain on their goalies to get them down to a price that we could move them to another team. Dallas would be a really good fit if they hadn't locked in so much unmovable salary to the position already. |

I would agree if Daley was healthy Lovejoy would be in the 2nd pair. Not dominant, but the possession anchor 2nd pair we have right now. |

Doesn't matter how dedicated ownership is it the team can't turn a profit. The Yotes are literally getting evicted from Glendale and the Panther's stadium looked 1/4 empty these playoffs after an amazing season where they won the Atlantic. Arizona is for sure moving in the near future and I can't see the Cats lasting. |
