Back to back cheap shots from behind 2 seconds apart by the Sharks. Now lets find some Penguin "holding the stick".

I don't think the Wingles hit on Cole was illegal. Looked like shoulder to shoulder contact. Just hard.

No wonder there is a huge lawsuit against this league. Very dangerous. NEEDS to be called.

Refs don't care. Clearly.

Just embarassing of the refs to not call those. The holds and hooks, they are pretty much not dangerous... boarding is 100% must call for any team or situation.

Who do you guys like more, Sheary or Rust? Rust does a bit of everything well. Sheary can score and is fast. Hard to pick IMO.

refing the score not the game. Sharks have carte blanche until they get one.

Owners will care after the lawsuit is over. They'll be out a lot of money for it. Mark my words.

Wasn't even referring to that one, the two down the other end of the ice. But yes, Wingels' was borderline though the cleanest of the 3.

I know they do that... plus the near zero calls cause its a Final. But still... could have had two players knocked out in under 10 seconds. Sullivan better say something in this TV time out.

Not like they can give us any less calls.

Yeah, they'll have to send someone off on a stretcher to get another penalty.

That hit was all fine and dandy. Wasn't a big hit in my mind like the announcers made it out to be. Cole absorbed it, but that put him off balance.

I will be shocked if we get another pp with the lead or the rest of the game.

Anyone notice how much contact Cole takes. I feel like he's getting laid out a (frank) ton. Like I'm glad he takes hits to make plays and all, but man he is getting constantly posterized.

Don't you remember when he started getting ice time again, after being benched after the first 15-20 games or so?

He sadly took after the Scuderi method of shot blocking and throwing the body around (younger Scuds) because "this team needed that". He changed his game because he feared getting shipped away.

edit: technically, its a success type of story... but i dislike that Scuds showed him how to shot block and how to play "hit" style of hockey :/

I don't think there's anything wrong with his game now a days. I just feel bad for him eating ice all the time.

To your edit, there's absolutely nothing wrong with hits and shot blocking as long as you're not getting out of position chasing big hits and you're not relying on shot blocking as the only way to prevent goals. I think Cole is a lot more than just a hitter/shot blocker.
