We really do have at best mediocre forward prospects except for maybe Fasching and Bailey. We need a couple players worthy of a 2nd round position culminating down there. Defense is quite rough outside of Guhle, Martin, Borgen.. could use another top prospect (8th) and our 2nd rounder, poop you could go with anything because we need a quality asset that we'd allow to mature through Rochester.

Rochester has been sucking for a few years now. Lack of good/great prospects. Anything decent was brought up or traded away.Now that the team is full , we can develop some and rinse/repeat.

Toronto still has Kapanen, Bracco, and Brown who are very good prospects behind them. Plus they have picks 30 and 31, and 56 if Pitt wins cup.

If those 3 pan out they are in great shape. If they don't, then they're no better off than we are. I know that's pretty obvious, but my point is that our pool is thin only because we had quick transitions to the NHL, or moved potential (prospects) for proven NHL commodities.

I may be wrong about all of this, but I'm still proud that I got to dust off the word "matriculate" in a post.

I never realized that, he had good point totals, but never hit 20 goals. He did put up 33A in 48 games one season though. He averaged an assist a little less than once every other game. .43 A/pg.

The Nelson kid looked darn good in a short stint. I predict he will be next years' Ghost. Maybe not Calder winner but the out-of-nowhere-wow-this-kid-is-really-f'in-good-type player, and he takes the crap minutes away from Carlo and/or Cody.

On forward, I also predict One of Possler, Olafsson or Rodriguez emerges as the next Ennis by the end of next year, minus the concussion/toilet issues.

I worry because Nelson got off to such a hot start then cooled down. He could be like Ruhwidel where he shows some flashes then ends up in Rochester the next year when he can't play consistently. Hopefully that's not the case and he makes the team and Franson gets traded.

I wouldn't get too excited about Possler or Olaffson. I believe both signed new contracts in Sweden and the one has only less then a year left with us owning his rights. I don't remember which one.
