I've accepted Cappy was coming back after the Isles won a round. It's time to look towards the draft and FA. The new owners deserve a honeymoon period this year. Now if the Isles do not do better than winning a round next year and the new owners keep Garth and Cappy then they get hammered and called Wang's stooges.

No matter what, my feeling was, that the new owners should have made a statement and cleaned house. Its their team now, and it should be their personnel. I really dont see the upside to giving this management "one more year". The only reasoning I see here, is that this offseason is such a cluster phuck with all the UFAs that they are just letting Snow figure it out (or not). But, based on how he's handled things in the past, I dont see this being any different. I think you will see guys walk, and he will add marginal replacements with upside.

I know this isnt a good example for various reasons, but i always go back to when the isles couldnt sign UFAs and then last minute just signed the scraps (Fedotenko, Sim, Weight, Comrie and Guerin). Like 5 marginal/over the hill players could make 1 really good player.

I was thinking more of a joint trampoline workout myself.

I would have no issue if the new owners wanted to clean house now. The big difference this offseason is the spotlight is really going to be on Garth. The team finally won a round and they have new owners taking over and just finished their first season in Brooklyn. Garth has no excuses if he cannot sign quality FA's. It's all on him and he cannot blame the Coli or Wang or the team not winning a round.

I feel like this exact sentiment was said every offseason for the last 5 years. At what point is it finally time. I mean this guys had MORE than enough time to field a winner, and they still arent a contender. His blind allegiance to the coach to me is reason enough.....he's more interested in hooking his friends up with jobs than actually winning at any cost. Gun to his head, is he really gonna say that Capuano is the best man for the job? I think not....

A free Girardi, but if you through in a Yak soon, we can also for this one time low price give you a Nash for just 2 easy payments of 7.8 mill.

It's a new world now. Isles have new owners and are coming off some success winning a round. It's very different now whether Garth or Cappy want to believe it or not. I can only repeat I would have no issue if the new owners wanted to clean house now.

Look at Sullivan behind the bench of the Pens. This was a team that was in the basement at the seasons beginning. This guy came in and brought this team to the cup finals (and are somewhat dominating). Watch him behind the bench.....the guy looks intense and you can see the players respect on their faces. Thats the complete opposite of "im your friend" Capuano. Sorry, but Capuano has never won at any level of hockey EVER. He's not the right guy for the job. Lets not have battered wife syndrom and keep coming back......lets realize that it hasnt worked. Winning a playoff round doesnt make it a successful season this far into a rebuild.

Exactly! Sullivan looks like he has a game plan, and if it's not working, he makes a couple tweaks and turns momentum. Cappy looks like a 5 year old lost in woods. And later in the game he gets a "hey, they didn't do that last period. What am I supposed to do now" look on his face.

I think that would have been the proper move, but like I said, they are probably going to let Garth handle this offseason. The irony to me is that if this offseason doesnt go as planned, and the isles are no better this offseason, you'll still have people saying one more year. How many one more years does a guy get.......especially in a results business?

I was obviously as happy as anyone that the isles finally won a round. But, lets be honest here. If the rules hadnt changed, and the isles werent allowed to start challenging goals, do they even get outta that round? I mean, rules are rules, but without those challenges, that series easily coulda gone the other way.

of our coaching staff, the only aspect of our game that improved last year was the penalty kill. PP was a cluster that didn't take advantage of boychuk's shot or pulock's at the end of the year, and our forecheck went into the toilet in favor of a trapping style, our puck possession dipped and our shots per game and goal totals all declined.

if greiss hadn't put up a career season we would have missed the playoffs.

I would definitely like to work within your budget.

I've talked to my manager(really just went to take a leak) and he says for that price we would need a high 2nd round pick also from you.

I only remember one challenge that overturned a goal, there was the florida goal where the puck went into the net after they ran into greiss that was waved off immediately and where florida lost the challenge, but that wasn't overturned, the ruling was upheld.

I'm not happy that the same staff is back, but I'm going to wait and see what the team looks like after the summer. This is in no way supporting the coaching staff, I'm just burnt out talking about them.

The other was an offsides call where a guy on Florida was skating backwards with the puck and his actual body crossed the line before the puck. To me, thats kind of a bush league rule......if you have possession of the puck it really shouldnt matter. On that play the panthers scored......so that "offsides"really had no bearing on the fact that the isles couldnt prevent the goal.

Same here......but theres a reason why we're burnt out. Its cause its the same phucking story year in and year out. Like I said, how many "one more year" does a guy get in a results oriented business??

Still think the new owners probably wanted to make changes this offseason, but the timing was not right. Now they have a full year to evaluate being in full control and if the Isles do not improve on this past year, nobody will question if they clean house next offseason.

Ding, ding, come pick up your prize, sir. You're spot on. I always wanted to throw my beer through the screen wondering why he would have Boychuk on the bench, with Franzy at the point. If you look at it, the PP had no movement to it, for the most part.

Lets not mistake one thing......just cause technically they dont take over majority share until July (i think), doesnt mean they arent evaluating things. When you have money invested in something you do your homework. I just hope they are less patient and more about winning. Because an owner who wants to win does not keep a manager and or coach for this long without winning.
