I don't know why the frank I'm defending Shannon, but you are actually taking his words out of context.

Marner, Rielly, Gardiner, Kadri - don't really apply to what Shannon was saying. They are rookies-ish.

His point was if Edmonton is looking for a veteran to teach the kids how to win/how to hate to lose, the old guys on the Toronto are probably not a good fit.

And he is right.

There have been several articles written over the past few years about how Bozak is basically happy to skip all the optional practices, be last on the ice, first off the ice, go home and play X-Box with his buddy Kesslie.
