I wonder if they'll try and trade Yandle's rights and get at least a little something at this point, seems obvious he isn't being brought back
- jimbro83

Not sure how obvious this is.

I am excited for the season to end, hopefully Thursday, so the real excitement can commence.

Obviously, from my perspective, this has been one of the worst postseasons in many, many years and transactions are going to start rolling as soon as the cup is raised by Pittsburgh.

I guess just to get a head start on negotiating with him. I think he's going to be a highly sought after commodity for sure

I'm talking like 4th round pick or something

Where do you think he ends up if he doesn't re-sign in NY?

I am going with the safe choice and suggest Boston.

If he signs in Boston, Boston I think would have to expose Morrow to waivers.

now that Florida no longer has Campbell's big money and traded Gudbranson, they could definitely go hard after Yandle too

Yandle would fit right in

Florida no longer gets to use Marc Savard's 4 million to artificially bring their cap up after next season too, they need to spend $$$

They need a backup goalie, resign Trochek and Howden. They'll spend in house.

The have 19+ million in cap space. They could fit Yandle. They need to re-sign Krug, Connolly, Morrow and Ferraro

That is a good point, let Goligoski go and sign Yandle, who is five years younger and a better puck distributor.

Yandle and Klingberg, as power play point men, is rather impressive.

The Rangers aren't guaranteed to lose Yandle yet, though.

Not unless he is traded, of course.

Hizzah!

All joking aside, I can live with Staal if he is put in situations where he can thrive. If Yandle is somehow re-signed, Staal is getting dealt.

Thanks for posting.

I read last year that 25% of a team's payroll would have to be exposed, which if true, means that teams are going to have to identify some bigger contracts to keep exposed and would seriously affect some trade scenarios as well.

Do we know when the expansion draft rules will be announced?
Also, if Quebec comes in later, would they really have a second expansion draft?

dallas needs to figure out whats going on between their pipes first and foremost.

ridiculous to have that much tied up in such incompetence.

I think the issue though is more being required to protect Staal in the expansion draft because of the NMC and being forced to expose someone else, rather than thinking about him as a player

We'll never know the answer, but I wonder if there'd be as much Staal hate if they didn't have the DG contract too. IMO, I think the tone would be hoping Staal has a bounce back year, rather than Gorton better find a way to trade his a$!.

Campbell hasn't developed as fast as Dallas would have hoped either. Think they try and ship one of their goalies off and go after Anaheim's Andersson?

Without question, Skjei is the real deal too, I have to believe the Rangers are scheming of ways to approach Staal to waive his clause, this summer.

Can't expose a Skjei over Staal though. Staal would have to be protected, under the expansion rule, leaving them to expose someone younger, more cap friendly and likely better.

I believe Skjei wouldn't have to be exposed if the reports of First and second year professional players being exempt are true. I don't know how they determine pro tenure but I would imagine Skjei to be safe.

i think its gonna be tough for them to move their goalie contracts. but andersson would be a good fit for them.

campbell still has potential, but this dallas team could be right there in the mix for SCF contention if they fix the net. i wouldnt want to waste years right now waiting. id look for outside help.

fleury?
