I'd like to keep him but is it that hard to find somebody do to what he did for less?

Love Radko.

A d-man that can actually play, and with a physical edge. A beautiful thing.

I wasn't sure if he could be as effective after all the suspensions. But he bounced back nicely toning down the unnecessary stuff and maintained his physical style of play. He proved he can walk the fine line he just needs to stay in that mindframe.

I think Gudas is going to get 3-3.5 When you look at the Gudbranson deal and such, and Gudas is better than him, he's probably going to command that. Honestly he's our best defensive defenseman and is that such a bad price for him?

Gudas is better than Gudbranson, but 3.5 would be a touch high. Gudbranson still has that top 3 pick sheen. 2.5-3 is the price they should aim for.

Funny thing about Gudas, that his hitting maybe disguises....he's a sloppy defensive player. Truthfully he might be one of the team's worst ones in the d zone. He's just a weird weird player. Really he is like a low scoring offensive d man who hits. He makes no sense. It's part of the charm.

Looking at what similar players have signed for in the last year or so, when it comes to Gudas, I"m guessing 3 years, aav of 2.25 million.

- BiggE

That would be an awesome deal for Gudas, but I think it's going to be more than that. I hope you're right.

I don't think Gudas is better than Gudbranson, and last season, I'd say Del Zotto and Schultz were better defensively.

Gudas definitely turned it around in the end. Can't underestimate his agitation factor.

He was better than Gudbranson.

More talented? No. But he's dispelled the myth that Corsi doesn't love S.A.H. defenders who are punishing defensively... they just have to do the little things, along with retrieving/advancing the puck reliably. and not having plays die on their stick in the ozone.

If Gudbranson was as effective as Gudas was this past season, not as many ppl would be poopting all over that trade for the Canucks. Gudbranson wasn't very good defensively, offensively, in any shape or form.

Shultz and MDZ were better defensively, but overall, Radko had himself a whale of a year... especially considering that most had him pegged as the 7th dman going into the year.

Gudas did have a good year, and I'm a fan of his, and I hope he's resigned. Gudas is not better than Gudbranson is, in my opinion.
People's commentary on the trade, is irrelevant.

I low-ball the crap out of it and you're the only one to comment. I can't even get a "pffft"? Damn.

Gudas is so puzzling from an analytics standpoint. He's NOT a good puck mover from the d zone -- only person worse is Schultz with exits and controlled exits. Also neck and neck with Medvedev for highest turnover %. He's actually not a good NZ defender either. Second on the team in high danger chances against per 60 dispels him being sound in coverage. And yet he graded out as the best possession d man. These are mostly things analytics values heavily in terms of d men. And he blows at them lol.

He just helps generate a (frank) ton in the o zone through an always present attack mentality, and while being awful at transitioning from the d zone, is actually good at it from the NZ. Being an OK possession d man could make sense, but how does this equate to great/best possession d man? The Curious Case of Radko.

He's the guy with 13 playoff goals playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. How are you missing him?

I hope he scores 2 or 3 Monday.
