Wow, Matthews being almost 220 at 18 is pretty crazy. Most tall guys are rakes at that age.

Hey, better skinny 10 years later. You must have a high metabolism like me.

I was that height at that age, but probably fifty pounds lighter than that. And it took a serious weight gaining diet and heavy weight training to get into the 220s but sure as poop not at 18. He could go heavier too, I wonder what he'll top out at.

Asked to compare himself with countryman Puljujarvi, Laine said: "I have a better skill set."

Im not really a fan, cant see him being a guy other players will enjoy in the room with thag attitude. He also flipped off his coach and told him how he could hurt him or something because of ice time at the ivan hlinka, got sent home after.

Saying he's even with Matthews, talking up the 9 month age gap.

From what I've seen he shouldn't count Puljujarvi out as competition. If I was picking second I might just take Puljujarvi. Putting himself above a national teammate too, not cool.

I wonder what Lou thought of Laine's interview...I'd bet fifty bucks he was ambivalent.

It's interesting seeing these combine training results. The top ten in these individual tests don't correlate at all with the prospects' rankings. It's just interesting to me to see that you can't really measure their total hockey value with these tests, it's a combination of so many things and so much of it is the game itself, mentally playing the game on the ice.

I'm surprised they don't do more perceptual and reflex tests, visual perception and processing and reaction time. That would be nerdy content they could fill the news cycle with too. Intense psychological, personality tests and questions lol. Make them play ping pong and dominoes and poop streaming on your Rogers mobile device.

Or the curveball interview questions like what are five things other than writing or drawing you can do with a pencil; what are five countries that start with the letter 'E'; who is Nelson Mandela.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing: like Laine is benching 155 if you're counting the bar. Hey guess what, my skinny tube snake build can bench 155 too: can I get drafted by the Leafs too?

Do they have "booo" cues for the clueless 'merican SJ fans? Let's boo Brian Dumoulin! He's a dead man in this town, oh wait, he's never played in this rink before.

You guys are good because I only got Eritrea because there's a Little Eritrea in my neighbourhood. My geography is brutal. Looking at globes or google maps blows my mind. I have no idea where anything is. I'm teaching myself geography from the internet.
