I did Niagara to Winnipeg. That part above superior is fantastic. Wish we had been able to experience more. It was basically night when we did that part. Went from the sault at dinner to Thunder Bay at like midnight.

It's worth just doing it for the drive, obviously especially during the fall. It's mind-boggling. You just keep driving, there's nothing up there. The desolation is heavy.

I thought it was an entirely sincere and valid point on my part. Do you not think that some fans need to take on a more balanced perspective? Funny how people seem to jump on a single thought as having only the meaning they want read into it. Nobody on this thread gives me a hard time for saying (last year at this time) that I thought Marner was the absolute hidden jewel of the draft and if it were not for McDavid the discussion might have turned on the possibility that Marner was the best pick in the draft.

Correct me if I am wrong but my assumption is that Matthews bona fides are tied to his development on the international stage especially as part of the US national hockey development program. Is the assumption incorrect that most of the really hard evaluation took place during tournaments played on big ice?
- spatso

His bonafides began in the USDP and USHL where he was matching and surpassing Kessel, Kane and Eichel's levels.

Ahh just ride out the Lupul train.

Either he comes back next year and becomes Lupul again, that is, a 20 goal guy with a veteran presence.

Or, he joins Cowen, Stalock and Robidas in the BerLOUda triangle

New rink that looks like a giant golf club looks nice

They love giant things out there. Like that giant t-rex you can climb up inside and look out its mouth. I have to admit that did rule.

In Toronto? Nice road trip coming from Texas.
- Zezel

He was coming out of the condo above Real Sports, two lanes were blocked on the Gardiner, only reason I was even cutting through there.

No idea why he is here or if he pays someone to bring his car down for the summer.

This is the main reason Matthews was ranked number one even three years ago

3. 17 Year Old Clayton Keller 62 37 70 107 1.73
4. 17 Year Old Jack Eichel 53 38 49 87 1.64

Seriously who switches teams? And who doesn't switch to a team that actually wins?

Spatso is the kind of guy who cheats on and divorces wives. Rejects his children for not being straight enough or perfect enough. Turns his back on his own mother for not being milf enough. That's the kind of guy who switches teams.

TBH man, if you find Edmonton boring and depressing then you're doing life wrong. The only reason to complain is the cold winters, and even then this is Canada - nut up!

This is actually kind of funny. I live in a small village in Eastern Ontario and for years I have taken a serious bruising for being one of the few remaining Leaf fans in a very strong Sens environment. Most people love to chirp me over the Leafs struggles. They enjoy it too much for me to ruin their fun. So, the opposite seems to happen here and I am fine with it. But, I do ask that you remember that I really enjoy the hockey side of the discussion. I have always said Leaf fans deserve much better management than they have been given. Now that they are finally getting the leadership they deserve I really do enjoy the positive vibes coming from the fan base.
- spatso

I'm pretty sure I know what role you are playing in that village.

Up for draft this year. Small, speedy forward... plays kinda like Marner but is actually a centre. He could be one of the steals of the draft if he can fill his 5'10 frame out to withstand the rigours of the NHL.

I did Toronto to Edmonton, that actually is really nice. The northern Ontario part anyway, around Lake Superior is one of the most beautiful drives in the world. The prairies section was a novelty to me because I'd never seen anything like that, and after the hills of Ontario it was fun to just mash the gas pedal and go Vanishing Point on the poop. The drive from Toronto to Montreal is pretty boring.
- Zezel

There is one nice part around Gananoque where the 401 slices through some rock sections with trees on either side and its only nice in comparison to the rest of the boring drive.

This. I only hated the mall. In the winters if you're skiing and skating outdoors it's amazing. In the summer mountain biking on the trails. It's a very fit city I noticed. There's a lot of fit ladies walking around in the summer, I thought that was very noticeable. The motorcycle clubs can go (frank) off and die though.
