Different circumstance here. We have a non injured player over 35 signed signed a long term deal that counts against the cap. Trading the cap hit would likely be interpreted as an attempt to circumvent the salary cap by Both teams.

You don't think it would be more? I was under the impression the Russian guys who are NHL stars go back and get huge salaries because of their marquee value to the KHL. Like aging soccer stars coming here to the MLS.

I'm saying that the only team that will be near the Cap Floor is going to be the Hurricanes. That will also vanish if the sign Staal, where Staal said he would welcome a return.
