personally I think Avs HAVE to resign Barrie - he is amazing...and on top of that you guys have lots of high end forward talent - just needs to mature and click.

But hiring Farrish to coach the D and emphasize shot blocking is probabyl the wrong guy for Roy to put his faith in.

I would like to see Avs move on from D coaches who have been focusing in on that first.

the firepower up front and a couple stud D with Varly in net should be a better team I feel.

as an outsider - I see him as being more of an issue than one who solves the problems...mackinnon, Duchene, landeskog, grigorenko, soderberg, rantanten coming up the pipeline, iggy still kickin it - that's a boat of offense - Johnson and barrie are studs - and beauche has been pretty solid...surprising the results don't follow.

Roy has some major warts to him, I will never say he is a great coach, but he isnt a dumb coach, which I think is a major difference.

He has changed things over time, and has had successes and failures in it. But he has something most coaches strive for, is motivation and having players believing in the product (my guess its bc of his name). The way he works with some players 1 on 1 and improves their level of play is amazing (Grigorenko is a prime example)

I think he figures it out over time as a HC in this league, but I think he burns the Avs in the process until he does.
