I have always thought that Laine would come back into the discussion. Matthews is probably the better choice but Laine is going to be something very special and probably a big goal scorer from day one.

Wow, that 1988 draft was pretty (frank)ed up, in hindsight. Quebec had picks 3 and 5 snd took Curtis Leschyshyn and Daniel Dore (???). Leafs took Scott Pearson at 6, leaving Roenick, Brind'Amour and Selanne on the board.
