I would stay away from both Martin and Okposo.

Martin: You are gonna be complaining about spending way too much money for a 4th line forward who gives you 14 points a year while spending over a hundred minutes in the penalty box. A career -46. He disappears in the playoffs. I would rather have Victor Stalberg on the 4th line at 750 grand a year. Martin is going to be a least twice that much. IMO, he just doesn't fit that slot on Broadway.

Okposo: Doesn't score enough with Tavares as his center. An awful defensive forward with a -60 for his career. Has averaged less than a hit per game for his NHL career which doesn't translate well to his supposed "power forward" tag.
Is not going to be worth the 6.5 to 7 million cap hit a year people are talking about. You can keep his Tavares-less 17 goals and 25 assists for that money.

Don't want anything to do with KO

Martin I would sign for the right price, and if we didn't have Glass. Since we will have Glass, and some idiot will offer Martin 3 per, Its not going to happen anyway.

Will have to deal Nash, Staal, Girardi, and Lundqvist. Would have to trade some to the Lightning for Bishop.

Not sure I want another $7M+ deal on the team. Stammer would be $10M easily.

So crazy that it's not going to happen. Three logical and legitmate destinations for him and the Rangers are not involved in that discussion.

they could make Stamkos happen if they traded Nash and bought out Girardi.

but, that's very unlikely obviously

A Nash trade I can see but not much else as far as big salaries moved, unfortunately.

Hank is staying put, Girardi likely here for at least one more year, etc. I could maybe see Marc Staal dealt but I don't think they would get away with that without acquiring some salary back.

Same with the Nash deal. If we took say a $4M player in return, Gorton would have to find a home for that player and get picks back in order to fully shed that $7M cap hit. I doubt picks and AHLers will be the return on Nash.

The whole thing just sucks. We gave up Dubinsky and Artem for this guy and now we just want to ship the guy away. Sucks.

I think this offseason is a win/win with Nash. Either we trade him and get some new pieces in return, or he stays and has a good season next year.

I really think he's going to have a good season next year whatever team its for

Anisimov and Dubinsky are role players though; the team has plenty of those. The Rangers still lack that go to guy on offense. Every cup contending team has at least one if not more.

Rangers have a lot of 1A type forwards but no clear cut #1. Nash should be, based on physical ability alone, but his lack of killer instinct is a huge detriment to his overall game.

Agreed, hope it's somehwere else though.

Two more years on his current deal and his yo-yo production lately, along with his age and injury history, suggest his level of consistency will not hold up.

Nash, Brassard, Zuccarello, and Stepan are the only 1A forwards the Rangers have.

Kreider doesn't have the consistency that they do to be considered a 1A forward.

At the end of the day though, I think the defense last year was the ultimate reason the Rangers were so bad.

Four out of twelve would be considered a lot.

If Miller exceeds last year's production, I think you can considered him a legitimate top six type forward.

Defense is definitely what did this team in last season. TAo go from a perennial top five defensive team to 17th overall is quite a horrible descent.
