I think it's interesting how low Schultz's ice time was against Washington. Obviously Hakstol trusted him to start every game, but over the season he didn't play huge minutes and his ice time went down in the playoffs. So it could be another Grossmann situation where they thank him for his service, and move on.
MDZ(26)-Gudas(26)
Prorovov(19)-Streit(38)
MacDonald(30)-Ghost(23)
Manning(26)
PK pairs: MDZ-Gudas, Provorov-MacDonald - Feanor
LOL at scratching Manning |

I think they consider Schultz a mainstay on the PK, and he has a much more manageable cap hit than Streit. With that in mind, I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't here at the start of next season. - BiggE
They will have the same cap hit if traded! |

That's a little scary, especially when you factor in the amount of penalties taken by Gudas.
I'd rather see:
MDZ-Gudas
Provorov-Schultz
AMac-Ghost
PK: MDZ/Gudas and AMac/Schultz with Provorov as the fill in when needed. Also, hopefully, Morin replaces AMac on the pairing with Ghost at some point during the year and the PK becomes: MDZ/Gudas and Morin/Schultz

I much prefer Streit as a right-side partner for young Provy.

He was scratched quite a lot when MDZ was healthy. |

Funny to see Schenn listed as Suspended all offseason. I wasnt really paying attention to it but does that mean that they will essentially have his cap hit off the books to start the season? |

Well, maybe, but I don't think they move Streit without eating some $$ |

Interesting. The 41 goals and 16 assists definitely say something about the type of player he is. But there is something about that size, skill, and speed combo that is intriguing. Plus they say he likes to hit and fore check.
Maybe that low ranking becomes a blessing in disguise for us.
I find that a player who is big and also enjoys playing physical has a better chance of advancing up the ranks. Its the ones who dont have a physical game that sometimes give me pause....as if they don't want to do what it takes when the players start getting better.... - MBFlyerfan
Think everybody knows by now that I really don't believe in the 'can't teach size' argument. Do like seeing a lot of compete and fearlessness, tho. |

Haha No I get you, I just wasnt clear. I am saying that if Streit is traded his cap hit will probably be the same as Schultz...essentially we get the same amount of relief regardless of which player gets traded |

I havent watched him enough to know but I think thats a two way street. I think sometimes guys who have size early on are used to it and can physically overpower people in junior, but that is diminished in the NHL. we will see i guess
...stay tuned |

I say no to JG. Yes he is big and can score some goals, but his 3rd year in the Q, is pretty much a man among boys with his size, but really hasnt ever dominated. Had a pretty mediocre season, especially for a "power forward with an elite shot". I get that he scored a bunch of goals, but I would have liked to see him put up crazy offensive numbers in the Q.
If we end up taking him, I will pull hard for him, but I just dont like him as a prospect.
EDIT: His uncle is a former Flyer.

I didn't realize he meant draft ranks. I thought he meant they develop faster. |
