Anybody read Ek's post pretty much trashing the Pens in the nicest way possible?!?!? - cap1681
I love the premise that "we might not have the best teams playing for the cup". Such an incredibly dim statement when you look at the paths each of these teams took to get here. |

It's one thing to not score on the PP, but the Pens actually look like they're the ones down a man sometimes compared to their 5 on 5 play and the Sharks get momentum from the kill and the Pens go into a lull. I mean, that 1st PP looked like a completely different Pens team (in a bad way) than the one that played up until that point. It's like Kryptonite to them. - NJPensfan
Your first sentence is spot on. It looks like we are the ones playing down a man at times. |

Letang is a really poopty point guy and Malkin is a leagues better half wall guy than a point guy. Shoot first Geno always comes out when he's on the wall and pass first Geno always comes out when he's on the blue line. I'm a broken record but Letang needs off, Schultz needs in, and Sid needs to get the (frank) down low and let Malkin run the wall. I don't give a poop about potential short handed goals that may come from having Schultz, Malkin, and Kessel being the last line of defense against a breakaway. Can't think about defense when constructing a PP unit. I'm a lot more worried about the games we can lose by not scoring on the PP than games we can lose by giving up a shorty. |

Its comments like this that show he has zero credibility and this site as far as his comments and rumors are a joke.

LMAO... they've done that during the PP... how's that looking? - sufi-judge
Thinking it's not the "loading up" problem, more like the not knowing hot to play with the man-advantage and now it's so in their head about it being a problem that they shoot themselves in the foot every time...sometimes literally.
Since we're on the topic though; How's post-memorial day looking without hockey in Caps land? Pretty much the same as every year? Good to hear. |

Ah Logan Couture and his sour grapes are even better this morning. They played his comment on NHL network immediately followed by his clear dive on the Cole interference penalty, Thornton ripping Crosby's helmet off and cross checking him, Hertle trying to sucker punch horny after a clean hit, and Ward trying to rip Murray's helmet off after he had his pads stacked on top of the puck late in the game. I missed that one in real-time. His bitterness is so great. |

the Pens PP is holding them back from blowing games open - NJPensfan
I entirely disagree. The PP launched a ton of quality shots in Game 1, and the first PP last night looked really good as well. The second was a bit out of sorts, but that'll happen sometimes. Not putting the puck in the net doesn't mean you had a bad PP - it requires some luck, or teams would do better than 20-25%! |

Just in: Malkin and Fleury to the Flyers for Mason and a 2017 6th round pick. - E4 - NJPensfan
He had a video last off season and it was him discussing trades with his "sources" and it was Malkin for OV.....makes 0 sense in any world! |

I loved seeing Thornton get frustrated. And Crosby's cool as a cucumber demeanor is exactly what the pens need |

You might be in the minority thinking the PP looked good and actually I found the 2nd PP better as they actually spent more time in the offensive zone and moved the puck quickly opening some lanes.
Luck yes is a component in every game - not just the PP - but you know what they say; you make your own luck, good or bad. |

I would love to see the Penguins change what they've been doing for 100 games this season and go with a super risky blue line on the PP when they're 2 wins away from the SCF
Great ideas guys!

Who's saying make anything risky? Besides, what's more risky than Malkin and Letang turning the puck over at the points...that is, when they're not clearing the puck with badly placed shots? |

It's interesting that Mike Johnson went all in on team defense and got neither offense nor defense because of it. Sullivan, on the other hand, devised a strategy around the strengths of the team and its players and got both offense and defense. |
