The majority of the people claiming that the two best teams in the league (This season) aren't the Pens and the Sharks are fans from teams that got eliminated by said teams. The Pens dismantled the Rangers and the Caps, and their only real risk of elimination was from Tampa, and who knows how that happened.. Games 6 and 7 clearly proved how much better the Pens were. The Sharks, while going 7 with Nashville, embarrassed them in Game 7. The Kings and the Blues, while winning a few games, were never really much of a threat.
If the Pens do end up rolling over the Sharks quickly, I think that shows how good they really are. They are effectively shutting down a Sharks team that was in control of most of the games they've been in prior to the SCF. |

I was impressed with the Sharks up to the Cup Final. I think part of it is the Sharks' vets overwhelmed by the situation. It reminds of when the Pens first faced the Wings in '08. The players weren't ready for how competitive that other team will be. |

There's probably a lot of truth to this. The leaders on the Pens have been here before - the leaders for the Sharks, have not. We've got two guys on our team who have been here - Zubrus, who got removed for Nieto. Nieto needs to be in there, but Spaling should be sitting, not Zubrus. The other? Jones, who before this series was thought to be a weak link. I don't think the Pens think that now. He is absolutely dominating but getting left out to dry by the team. |

Honestly I haven't watched much of the Sharks this playoffs, but everything I read says that they are a fast and big physical team. At times I see the physicality, especially when they can get a cycle going and expose the D a little bit, but in terms of fast... I haven't noticed it yet (and not just foot speed, but also fast transitions, or puck movements). The Pens have really been swarming the puck carrier and forcing their moves before he gets a read on the situation, which IMO is limiting the Sharks movement through the neutral zone, but also the Pens breakouts are ridiculous to watch, they have so many up their sleeve and they are all so simple, but effective. throwing the puck into soft areas, and winning foot races has become so common in 2 games. |

Wow what a biased article... I am not a Pens fan but I do truly hate the Sharks as much as it appears EK hates the Pens.
From what I am seeing the Pens are dominating the games and great goaltending is keeping them in games that would not even be close otherwise. The problem for SJ is the tool they have used to beat the WC teams is speed and the Pens are faster.... Much faster. I hate to say it but the Sharks have looked good all playoffs and really were the better team until now.
Lets see what home ice brings for SJ, hopefully nothing but more losses. (Biased comment) |

This team does play with the confidence that winning teams need (and what Ek kind of refernces), but they've also just a good team. It's only been two games, but this squad looks better than the one that won it in '09. |

I've heard a lot of people say that the Sharks don't hold a chance in the SCF. I think they are wrong. The two games could've gone either way and I think that this series will go 6 or 7 games
.as much as I hate to say it, I think the Pens have this in 6. They have four lines of pure scoring ability and they have negated the Sharks amazing offense.
I couldn't imagine this series if the Sharks were not defenively responsible. Jones has been great. But the Sharks need to start getting the offense going. |

Don't fret. The Eastern Conference will win 1 out of the next 5 cups before Buffalo wins 5 straight. |

Geno is really pissing off Thorton and keeping him under control, that'll change when the Sharks have last line change. |
