I think he has really good chance to be a legit player. He just to adds a little bit of physicality to his game.

Don't tell MDW that.. He wants Dan Girardi riding shotgun on that first pairing

Dan Girardi is going to be remembered for his every flaw, screw up and decline. No know is gonig to remember how good he was for an extended period of time. On a blue line that featured Thomas Pock. Jason Strudwick, Steve Eminger, Jeff Woywitka, Roman Hamerlik and Stu Bickel at carious times

I didn't mind him either. But Steve Eminger was a former first round pick now out of the league, Girardi and undrafted UFA is still in in it. Speaks volumes how "Bad" Girardi has been.

Listen im not just gunna forget about everything he did. But literally anytime someone defends Girardi their only argument is everything hes done in the past. We cant be like the lakers paying kobe to stick around cause of everything hes done for the organization. If NYR is serious about "new blood" it starts with G.. whether u buy him out this year or next or retain a good chunk in a trade.. its gunna happen sometime, just gotta bite the bullet and admit their mistake on the contract

To be fair we as fans also don't know the extent of his injuries.

Management, the coaching staff and us fans all want the same thing...to build the most competitive hockey team we can. If management views Girardi's miserable season as a result of injuries, then maybe it is and he'll rebound next year. After we traded our captain in Callahan, bought out Brad Richards and traded Gaborik...I don't think management has any issues breaking loyalty with a player or ruining their Rangers legacy, if they truly view the move as a necessary one to improve the team.

If girardi stays this year, which it looks like he will, I am going to assume last years poor play was a major result of injuries and root for G to bounce back.

I mean they can always shelter him on the 3rd pair and if his slide continues just buy him out next year. Like ive said a million times I just want the young guys getting honest looks

I give him a pass for this past season. I know many think that's stupid, but Girardi played with a serious knee-cap injury for a large portion of the season. Add to the fact the Rangers have played probably the most hockey out of every team in the league the past few seasons, he has had little or no rest. A long off season will do wonders for him. I expect a good season for him next year. If not, then let Las Vegas draft him...or something...

I say, at the very least, allow him to up his trade value some before letting him go.

He stunk this year, no doubt. But I don't think one bad year should undo one of the longest tenured Rangers in recent memory.

Edit: IMO the loss of Girardi would be fine if a Player that shall be not be named was still here. You have a right side of Klein, Mcilrath and said player. Would be nice right.

That whole knee cap thing is on AV. Playing him while knowing he has a cracked facking knee cap is pretty inexcusable. of course Girardi is gunna wanna play but you have to take that decision out of his hands

I think it's safe to say that Skjei and McIlrath will be full time NHLers next year. Essentially 2 rookies right there...which is a scary thought in itself. Any more and we'll be giving up the most GA in the league probably.

The offense is still young and Buchnevich, Hrivik, and some other prospects that will push for a spot may make the team.

I think the young guys will get their looks.

I totally agree. Why McIlrath didn't dress more is beyond explanation. AV needs a for that.
