I actually don't mind this. What he is saying makes sense. A lot of decisions they make this summer is going to impact the team for the long term future so they better not frank it up. Gorton's biggest offseason in his hockey career coming up.

That's always the way it is though. People crucified Lou for signing Kovy saying that it was the reason they lost Parise, when in fact the Devils offered more dollars to Parise than the Wild did.

Seems silly to buy out Girardi this year. One thing no one seems to say is that at the rate Girardi is breaking down he may wind up on LTIR soon and not have any effect on the cap anyway.
