How much were tickets going for? Curious to see how that stacks against those tickets I got already

This is also why signing a guy like McGinn would be foolish. When you look at the overpriced D that Tampa has, you would think they they could lose some of that salary and make room for him.

Signing McGinn is a high priority for them though so I wouldnt rule that out...

Look for McGinn, Stammer, Vatanen/Fowler and Okposo..they want to grab at least one new winger and one d man we know of..with johnson expected to leave via FA they will try to replace him via trade as they dont see Ullmark as ready yet...so its either grab a FA goalie which is a pretty loaded pool for back up goalies (could even mean johnson comes back) or appproach it via trade like Darling...

I would hope so. Then again, you would assume that of the Bills and they seem to have franked their cap. I know, apples and (probably) oranges.

Saw that the flyers were paying Chris Gratton 10m salary in 1997-1998

I can't imagine them offering anything more than what they are rumored to have offerend him. You can't overpay him to be on the third line and nobody should overpay Okposo to be on the second line.

McGinn isn't coming back IMO. He's no where near an impact top 6 and will be paid like a good 2nd liner

They aren't paying Okposo 6 mill a year, the only thing they are concerned with as of now is Stamkos. They will go 10-11 a year if they have to . It's the way the will work the contract as to how it will help later on.

Got some insight on the way the Sabres are thinking heading into the draft/off season. Nothing too earth shattering but one thing I heard that I can share was expect most of the Sabres deals to happen on day 2 day 1 might be pretty mundane

Isn't the average of the contract the only thing that matters? If so I don't know what they could play with. Are you saying that they would front-load it to make it more attractive to him?

Brass has met and are focused on Stamkos I was told but, Leafs will go hard as well for him. Big questions is................ is the Bolts move Bishop that might change things.

all I heard was the Brass is ready and prepared to offer 10 if needed. I don't know much about contracts and the cap, I leave that to most of you on this site.

We could have had Stamkos at the draft last year but Murray backed out, we would have lost out on Eichel +.

There isn't a word being spoken about Stamkos outside of the Sabre bosses, nobody wants to take a chance on anything getting out and having any problems.

I've heard we will try hard to sign him but if he doesn't resign in Tampa it will most likely be highest bidder. Montreal is definitely a high possibility along with us, Toronto and Detroit

Well if Stamkos signs elsewhere you should damn well have back up plans and McGinn fit real well...Seeing Foligno potentailly get shipped out of here if no contract gets reached creates a might fine opening for McGinn so let it play out first before we assume Stamkos goes here or even Toronto for that matter

My money from everything I've heard is Girgensons is the more likely one to get traded

McGinn turned down 4 years 16 mill before he was traded I was told, I guess he seems to think he's worth more.

I was hoping for a better back up plan than McGinn.

Montreal!!!?? How they are 1M OVER the cap already. They'd have to gut their team deeply.

I still think it comes down to us or Detroit. Stamkos has to see that Detroit is heading towards a rebuild though. Great prospects but they need vet help and themselves have VERY little cap space.
