Wrong. They do that we're right back where we are this year... talking about what player will drop to us at 8-10th overall. We have a bunch of offensively challenged slow 3rd liners trying to play 2nd and 1st line roles and 1 and half good defenceman. Murray will trade for a top four D and sign or trade a top 4 or 5 winger

Last year everyone was saying it is going to take time for the team to gel and get used to the system. They have had a whole season now.

A full year with Lehner and possibly bringing up bottom six players like Fasching, Baily, or Nelson and Guhle. I think they can improve and still not be where they are this year.

Nash is signed for two more years... I doubt any team would extend him until after this year
- bluengold12

If a team that wants him and that team is on his no movement list, that would get him to go. He's 31 gotta think about that.

Toffoli is off limits but I mentioned before taking Brown if we could get Muzzin. Brown is a hard contract to take on.

True but if we could find someone to take on Moulsons contract that might help... Hopefully with McCormick retiring his 1.5 million comes off of our cap this year

Moulson is a good player IMO but Brown is more of a Murray type player, you defiantly can move Girgensons if you get Brown.

No they need someone to play with Eichel who has the skill or brains to put a puck in the net and not fifteen feet wide... (Girgensons, Moulson, Gionta, Deslauries.....)

Fasching didn't really impress me I think he needs at least half of next year down in Rochester. Bailey showed speed here but his aim looked as bad as Kanes this year. Hopefully it was just rookie jitters on his part but his accuracy left a LOT to be desired. It doesn't matter because I guarantee Murray improves his top six and top four respectively in some way or the other so there's no point arguing it.

I'm not so sure good and Moulson are in the same sentence anymore

Not arguing and you are probably right.

My point is that everyone gets too excited to make big moves and give up any little assets that are available right now when this team is not ready to really do anything.

Moulson is a good player, just had a few issues last year but i'm sure if they really tried they could move him.

IMO, that is a mistake.

Except Stamkos.

That's why the only player that makes sense is Stamkos, no assets to give up to get him and he's 26.

They are going to go after a big time player for Eichel's line, we have to wait and see for now. how much longer should we wait ? it's been long enough.

I disagree. I think a few tweaks and they can make the playoffs next year....

Trade for Cam Fowler

or

Sign Goligoski or Yandle

sign Stamkos or Ladd, Brouwer and we can be in the playoffs next year. Adding speed to our bottom six would help too.. Too bad our third line is probably the slowest in hockey though.

You hear anything on Vessey? I personally think he ends up in NY or Boston

They really like him as do the Bruins, Leafs and Rangers. Islanders also and the Wings

Nowadays anything can happen in the playoffs... Look at Nashville upsetting the perceived favorites Anaheim and almost beating San Jose

I like that Yandle and Goligoski also like Fowler, wouldn't mine any of the 2 here. Ladd, Brouwer, Okposo guys like that scare me. Was reading Ladd and Okposo want 6 mill a year. no thank you.

I agree tweaks can be made to improve. I would gladly overpay for FA's rather than trade what little they have for players they can't afford.

I guess the Malkin thing got me rattled. And I know 89 said that they are not definitely trading for him.

Okposo scares me because who he played with but Ladd played with crap at center and still dominated. At least we're getting those guys for "free"

I think the key to our success is moving our 3rd line down to the 4th. We need guys who aren't the slowest in the league and lack skill on there... Larsson... Gionta... Foligno...

They have talked about Malkin but I didn't say the Pens would trade him or are looking to trade him.

Let's put it this way... We probably have a better chance at trading for Subban than we do Malkin

Ok you're right, I agree with you on Ladd. Seems like a player Murray would want.
